Delete resonator

I deleted my resonator on my CLK 63 and sounds awesome.

Now I have a ML63 2013.

Wondering if anyone with a ML63 2012+ did remove the resonator?

I did it on my SL55 and was happy with it. Undecided on my ML63. Any chance you could post a sound clip for us? Any drone at constant speed?

I found this.
Here's a diagram of your exhaust system.

The resonator is the big part under part #12.

I'm interested in this as well.

(For the sound)

For my c63amg I did long tube headers, which removes the cats and custom h-pipe (no resonators) with stock mufflers, aFe filters and mhp ecu tune and it was the louder version of stock (deep loud angry) until I opened it up and then it was insane haha. I have sound clips in the w204 section.

For my black series I only deleted the 2nd cats along with a weistec ecu & tcu valvebody.

In my opinion the 2nd cat deletion was the better sounding but not quite as loud as I would like it.

However both of my benzs are m156 which is completely different. So I'm curious about the res delete vs cat delete with the m157 engine.

No drone. Bought the Supersprint midpipe with no resonator.

I love how it sounds.

Just did mine this weekend. Went with 3" stainless pipe - straight to the stock exhaust. The shop that did the work could not believe how much of a difference that removing the resonator would make. The ML63 should have come out of the box with the exhaust sounding like this. Totally worth the $200 I had to paid.

Ecstuning.com

you have to call and order it is not on their website. Ecs is the main distributor, maybe only official distributor for the US.

i think about a grand or so.

I wouldn't spend 1K on pipe that makes no difference from having a muffler shop cut 3" stainless pipe and do the exact same thing. totally a waste of $. Your car will sound no different and will not be any faster. FACT.

This is all true. Just be sure to find someone who can weld stainless and doesn't use the filler for aluminium. I believe the OEM pipe is 2.75" (forgot if OD or ID).

I preferred not to cut out my resonator.

Didn't you have to cut the resonator out anyway?
