Satellite Radio Required for GPS Traffic Update??
Hello Everyone - We are new members and have enjoyed the forum over the last year. It has provided a wealth of information during the waiting and after delivery.
We have reached the end of our free satellite radio subscription (SiriusXM in Canada) and are wondering if the satellite subcription is required for the GPS traffic updates to function properly. When we travel in the USA, we have actually experienced an audible traffic update notifying of a delay or detour. Is this associated to the satellite radio service? If not, we have no other real use for the satellite radio.
Thanks in advance

In the USA we have Sirius+Traffic. We get graphic information on the Nav. Screen indicating slow and slower traffic flow on main highways. If we have route programed, we also get audio requests to reroute around delays with a Yes/No choice.

Thank you Venchka
The traffic feature you describe is what we appreciate when travelling in the USA. It is very good but unfortunately not available on a Canadian Sirius subscription as just basic traffic. It would seem that in order to benefit from traffic updates, I still require a basic Sirius subscription.
I should have also indicated, we do not have MBrace.
Thanks again
