Fuel Filter Gas Version

Where is the fuel filter in a 4matic gas version and how does one go about changing/servicing this filter?

Under rear seat. You'll need to remove rear seats and pull up the carpet to access fuel pump or filter.

Fuel pump is on the RIGHT side and the fuel filter is on the LEFT side.

So has any one serviced their fuel filter themselves? In both my Volvo and Audi the filter is readily accessible and is recommended to be changed. Does MB believe the fuel filter is a life of vehicle filter? Seems like removing the back seat for general maintenance is a bit excessive. Now that I think about it, the back seats flip up so maybe you don't have to actually remove the seat but flip up and fold carpet back. Hopefully someone has already done this. Does anyone have the service bulletin for this job?

It doesn't look like we have to remove the rear seat. Check out this video... not sure if this is different for 2014 and 2015 MLs.
