Hi newbie here,

I just replaced the rear entertainment DVD player. Mercedes dealership fitted a second hand one for me. Tried putting in region 1 DVD and got the message "not valid DVD". Non region coded DVD worked fine... So I'm guessing that the player has the wrong region code. Is there a way to change the region code? Can the dealership do it? Pretty annoyed they didn't test it!

Does the DVD player have a remote?

Do you by any chance have a picture of the DVD player or know who manufactured it?

Some DVD players you can change the region by changing the settings in a hidden menu. However some manufactures don't allow you change the region.

I have had a look about, It seems the later versions of the Merc DVD player is region locked by hardware. You might be luck and have an older unit but you will need a Satar Diagnostic tool to change the region lock
