Attention Assist question

My car is equipped with this feature but for some reason I do not see the darn coffee cup reminder or the dialog reminder that I have been driving for x amount of minutes and I need to take a rest.

I drove my ML 6 hours straight and not a single "Hey Joe, you need to take a break" from my ride. On the loaner cars I get from the dealer I always see this on the dash after a few hours of driving. I already checked the Attention Assist on the cluster and it is ON.

Any idea?

Drive all night, make sure it's a very dark night with lots of wind, be very jerky with the wheel, and it will come on! heheh! Had it come on coming back from Florida last week! It will keep alarming every 15>20mins or so, until one takes a break/turns the engine off. Must say, it's a very noticable audible!

Mine goes off when I turn to look at the back seats on a long drive.

I have attention assist on my 2013 C350 coupe. I always wondered if it actually works or not, and how to test it.

Well actually I just did last night. Vancouver to Portland and back. It was night and did sometimes wiggled the steering wheel left and right while letting go of the gas here and there to stimulate me dozing off....nadda......did not see the coffee cup and break reminder. I think something is wrong with it.

On the loaner cars it is really noticeable and it will BUG you until you turn off the engine so I think something is up with this....

i think the newer versions of ML (14 +) you dont see the icon, the highbeam assist logo is there (if you have the lighting package)

I have 14 with lighting package. The big yellow coffee cup will show up if the sensor detects somthing. I typically don't get this in 2-3 hr driving, but one day it was popping up every 15-20 min. It has its own mind.

Also, for some reason I do not see anything on the Assist Display. I only see the front top view of the ML with 2 lines in front and nothing happening even though the steering wheel vibrates. I always knew when that happens you will see the lines will highlight or something. The only thing I see is the high-beam assist nothing more.
