accident repair - driver door VIN sticker missing

Got in an accident last year and the ol' tank acquitted itself well. Driver's side door was replaced in the repair (the outside of it, anyway) at a MB authorized collision center.

Just found out, when I took it in for a smog test, that the VIN sticker (and the tire pressure stuff, etc.) was not replaced on the new door.

Am I SOL at this point? or is this something the collision center should have and can possibly still do?

Some parts on a vehicle are VIN-specific. Tags/stickers with VIN number are an example of that; car keys are another example. That sticker can be ordered from MB dealer. Body shop should've ordered a new one.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking and the smog check guys were indicating. I'll contact the dealer (again) and see if we can get this sorted. Thanks!

If you are talking about the VIN sticker with the tire pressure info it should be on the "B" pillar, just below the door striker, not the door itself.

Also, some stickers are not easily obtained. The emission stickers, for example, can only be applied at the manufacturer or US deliver center on cars that are imported.

Yeah, I meant the B pillar, not the actual door.
