I parked my ML in the morning for work and then when I came in evening there was no power what so ever. It seems the hazard light was ON but was surprised that hazard light would drain the entire battery within 6-7 hours and thought there would be always some reserved battery power which would turn off the system. I have to call road service to jump start. I remember that when I was waiting inside the ML for 10-15 minutes with music and a/c but car engine off, the entire system turned off after sometime and have to start again the music and a/c system again. Is there a setting to ensure reserve battery is preserved?

If the Hazard light can drain the battery, I would have the battery capacity check, it might be a good idea to be proactive and check it before it dies.

My "CHECK ENGINE" light came on before the main battery went kaput.
Took it to the dealer and that is what I was told. New main battery [glass mat] and off I went.

Maybe different with modern, LED-equipped cars. But not one of my fleet of Savana vans would start an engine after 6-7 hours of the hazards operating
