Technically yes, but it's not recommended as it drains the battery and car may not start.

is it limited to 2014-15 only? or the whole line of w166 covered?

I like the idea to have cam integrated, but dont like our Canadian dollar exchange rate

The best way to go around this is to install a dedicated power supply such as the Power Magic Pro. It will keep the camera powered when the car is off, but only for either a limited (settable) time, or until the battery voltage goes below a certain level, whichever comes first. I have it on all my cars, works like a charm.
