2012 ml63 tailgate, only closes partway...
Hi,
Just got it and having some odd issues.... opened the tailgate with driver door button. went to close using the same button... went down a foot then back up a few inches... tried again, same issue... tried the red button on the tailgate, same deal... distances a little different each time... but still would not close...
Finally kept using the driver door button and pressing again as it started back up... got it closed a little more each time until it finally closed...
Any ideas ?

MB Tech seems to think it's the strut, apparently the strut motor is inside the strut... will see... I got a loaner until it's fixed.
btw, they gave me a new E300 with the 2 liter 4cyl turbo.... ya know if ya didn't tell me I would have thought it was really strong v6....
quiet, good power and torque...
Really nice ride ....
