Dumb Newbie Question - Service Manuals?

We just bought a 2012 ML350 Bluetech. I was looking for a service manual and perhaps a parts manual for the vehicle, but I am getting the impression that part of the MB marketing is to treat any information on the vehicles like classified information only to be seen by the eyes of the dealer service department.
Does anyone know if there is a source for service manuals and parts manuals?

thank you,
Todd

Honestly, I believe its quite the opposite. I've owned Fords and Mercedes, and found it much harder to get Ford factory info. Up until just a couple years ago, you had access to Mercedes electronic parts catalog (EPC) for any model. Now its subscription based. That is also the case with their service manuals. You can buy a day, week, month, and year access to their service manuals. Go to https://www.startekinfo.com.

Another good source I have used is alldatadiy.com. Also subscription based, for less, but only for one vehicle, but provides factory info.

Hi jrsmith_68,
If you still have access to parts catalog, can you help me to identify a few parts?
Here is my post:

Thank you in advance.

Yep. Mercedes EPC can look up your vehicle by VIN. PM it to me if you don't want to post it in the forum.
