I've had my 2000 M5 for 4 years now and have loved every minute of it. It's been my daily driver and have owned 2 other bmw's before it. (E34 535i,5 & 330xi full Dinan) my daily's I usually trade out every year or 2 and can't seem to let go of my M5. Currently it has 167k on it and running strong in fact it just passed emissions this morning. Told my self that if it failed it was time to move on. Either way I've been looking at 2003-2006 e55 AMG sedans. One of the major reasons is my wife doesn't have a desire to learn manual and I'm thinking a automatic daily might be a nice change. It would be nice to have a car she could drive other than the 03 MDX kid bus.

So, what model years would you recomend.
Any options to stay away from.
Things to look for when inspecting possible candidates.
Also curious on what other owners are getting for gas milage.
