Third brake light issue in 2008 w204 c300

Third brake light issue in 2008 w204 c300
Hi everyone
I have an intermittent issue with third brake light on above vehicle. The light comes on when pedal depressed but goes out immediately, so won't stay on even with pedal depressed. I suspect it could be a relay but can't find a legible relay diagram. Can anyone help with this? Much appreciated,
