2001 E430 4matic Lifter noise
Replacing my valve cover gaskets, breather tubes and intake gaskets at 212,000 miles and would like to find my small lifter tic noise now that I have the valve covers off. What should I look for in the valve train to give me a clue.

MBWorld Fanatic!
With valve cover's "off" at 200K miles I wouldn't worry too much if it was me.
If you want to really dig into it - then "some old schooler's" might choose to do a engine oil flush before the oil change. The "more intense" the detergents and solvents in the flush product - the less time you run the flush product in the engine to loosen up the gunk.
"Most" MB'er's don't subscribe to the Flush-School..
Liquid Moly is the most intense (short of kerosene) and runs at idle for 15 minute - I would change Fleece oil filter before and fresh fleece oil filter after - I am not a fan of SeaFoam - Marvel Mystery Oil is the old-school milder flush product - run 2500 miles - but I don't recommend longer than that.
Your choice - keep the beat !
