New and Rare CLK 430 (208) owner from France
I am Julien from France, living in Paris south suburban area.
I am a recent owner of a CLK 430 cabriolet (2000) bought during my holidays in Spain. Car is in very good condition and I love the dark blue / light grey color combination.
I said rare in the title cause there are very few 430 in France. Big engines and especially V8 are rather rare in France.
I spent my vacations on this forum as it is full of information. CLK 430 community was pretty active over the years.
I have some projects for the car thanks to the advice I've read. I'll change the air admission for CLK 320 airbox + K&N filter, change the exhaust muffler. I believe I'll pay for stage 1 (ECU mod) in order to be closest to the 306cv of the C43 AMG. Finally I'll probably look for AMG monobloc alloys while the car is already with 18' inch CL class rims. I've read over the last weekend that rims are not supposed to be compatible with CLK as lug nuts/bolts are different. By chance, I have still my 4 wheels despite I came back from a long trip to go home.
In terms of maintenance, I planned to change the brakes (disks and pads), gearbox oil, cooling liquid and unfortunately I've notice a leak of oil yesterday which I suspect to come from the cover gaskets (as per the experiences I've read over the web) but I have to make sure of it.
I think I will need the support of you guys in the coming weeks
Julien
