550 OE Tuning, driving experience.

I have always wanted more power in both of my 550s and after seeing OE tuning's dyno results on a 2009 S550 I decided to pull the trigger on my CL.

I know it is a 216 but the 216 forum is dead plus a lot of you have been interested in getting more power in your 221 so I figure I post it here.

I shipped out the ECU to Jeremey on Friday and got it back on Saturday just in time for my weekend cruise. The car is 100% stock except for the Meisterschaft exhaust. First impression was that the exhaust note is now different. It has a more hollow sound as if the motor is getting more air. The shift is also a little more agressive in S mode. I had a bbq to attend about 30 miles away so it was perfect time for me to drive a little aggressive for the ECU to re-learn. I never went WOT on the 1 to 2 but did on 3 to 4 and the car now PULLS hard! I am pretty sure that if I punched it from a stop with traction off, it would leave a good trail of rubber marks. By the time I headed back, I was so addicted to the new power that I couldn't stop revving it through the gears. On top of that, the sound of the meisterschaft simply intoxicating.

Jeremey said a solid 20rwhp and 20+ rwtq across the entire powerband should be expected and I don't have any reason to doubt him.

I am pretty confident to say that this car is now pushing north of 400hp at the crank which in terms of seat of the pants feel is night and day difference compared to stock. I was so happy when I got home that I just had to stop and admire the car by taking a few photos.

For anyone that has thought about an ECU upgrade look no further! Go to the E55/63 forum and C63 forum and search OE tuning and you will see how much power Jeremey is able to extract out of a stock 63.

Jeremy, if you are reading this. Thank you once again as you've created a new excitment and brought new life to my old boring car.

hmm, I had an OE tune done on my 500, and while there is maybe a bit more power, I'd hardly call it a huge difference.

Well, since you dont think there is much of a difference btw 220 and 221 so yeah you probably wont feel a huge difference.
