Hello drivers...

very excited about the 'soon to be available to us' 2014 S class.

was wondering who is doing what to their configuration?

I'm hoping to configure S550W4 with Mauritris Blue paint, armagrak leather and matte nat. oak....
also looking at 321 pkg, 325, pkg, P1, 867, 735 and probably a few more things...
still waiting to hear from my salesguy about configurment date!

It seems too early to know what fun stuff is included and what is ala cart but I must go 4matic so will wait. I keep hearing many wheel bases to come. Do you think we will get a short wheel base in US? Love to try it out. If I go back to an S from my 7 then airmatic or the equivalent soft ride is a must. BTW if MB attempts to go with run flats like BMW did kill me now. That is my number one least favorite thing about my BMW. Run flats ruin the whole idea of a luxury car by adding a hard ride and noise......I digress. My last S550 was the 2007 launch edition and I loved it. To be considered this time around if offered

Run flats like communism sound great but it reality it is a terrible to live with.

Mauritius blue is absolutely beautiful. I've seen it on a W212 in person and it's so striking. Definitely a cool color, and probably what I'd get if ordering a 222 but with Amaretto leather and blue granite trim!

Please let me know how you do. I can't believe they will sell this from less than MSRP but I could be wrong.

Raleigh told me they'd be asking MSRP also, but I assured him that in the numbers game.........well, you know the rest....

playing with options and they alone came to over 30K, without the designo costthis is going t be great!

that's decent if its close to fully loaded for 30k, I have about the same amount put into my GL right now..... in comparison the Porsche Panamera will be 60-80k fully loaded.

btw where did you play around with the options?

I'm figuring over 40 by the time designo trim and leather is factored in....
I've been working with (bothering the hell out of) my dealer in Cary and he got me some info you posted on your other S class thread with the details (on page two of the thread)that actually had prices of the packages:
811 Burmester Sound: 6400
867 split view: 710
445 pkg, warmth pkg: 2350
321 pkg, sport style: 5900
325 pkg, rear seat pkg: 3000(requires 223&276, heated and power rear seats)
864 rear entertainment: 2650
P1: 4500
just to name a few,
I posted a link somewhere here with that info and numbers......

..but I couldn't find the MSRP........possibly a couple of % more than this year?

Does anyone know the details of "325pkg-Rear Seat Package"? What I am concerned with is in the package it includes:
- P07-Chauffeur Pkg Rear
- 452-Chauffeur co-driver

Also anyone with knowledge of the "397pkg-Rear Seat Package PLUS"? I like that this includes rear massaging seats, etc but it also includes "453-Executive Rear Seats".

Will any of these two packages or a combination both convert back rear seat into 2 passengers in lieu of 3?

I would like to know this as well. Its sad that the MB SA's don't really know much about this. I realize its new but still they should know about the product they are selling or MB as a company should have done a better job training them on the new S Class.

Yeah, tell me about. Its new but there is no excuse for selling/taking orders on $100k+ car without proper training and/or proper info on packages. They shouldn't allow orders to be taken unless they know the product they are selling. Been waiting for a response from dealer since yesterday.

I have always been suprised by these facts too....
when I spoke to a goofball in Greensboro, NC I refurred to
the S as the W222: he had no idea what I was talking about!
and that echo's what you're both saying........the sales force seems
to know very little about the cars they're selling....

and I do believe the executive seats would mean no middle spot
kind of like that picture of the president lounging in the back....

I have read that only the LWB version will be available here in the states. As far as how I want ours configured, I have to see what's available first. Probably just about everything except for a few things.

Alright just wanted to post update for those wanting to know in case you haven't found out already. My sales rep got back to me over the weekend. Even thought "325pkg" includes:
- P07-Chauffeur Pkg Rear
- 452-Chauffeur co-driver
This package will still keep the S class to 5 passenger seating.

Also, as hyperion667 has mentioned the "397pkg" will remove the middle spot in rear making it a 4 passenger.

And what exactly are the Chauffeur things referring to? I am familiar with the normal rear seat upgrade. I don't know what the Chauffeur adds to it.

I'm guessing it adds the front passenger seat controls to the driver and rear passenger's panels. I'm frankly appalled at how Mercedes chopped up the Rear Seat Package into a million different options across a thousand packages.

I think its the 398 package that will make the rear seat a 2 place seat.
398 package - Executive Rear Seat Package has 2 items:
- 224 - Two place seating in the rear
- 449 - Folding Tables in the Rear


I would think MB will not have 2 codes (224 and 453) for the same thing.

453 may be something else but good luck trying to find out what that is.

We probably know more about this than MB sales force
