anyone having problems trying to get an S class ordered
I've been going around to several dealers and seems almost impossible to get an S class in September/October, all are saying around Jan+ time frame.
Anyone else experiencing this?

The car is being released on Oct 15 so no one can get it before that. Also the first wave of allocations are probably already sold. Jan seems reasonable due to increased demand. One of the sites reported 20,000 pre-orders already received by MB.

the only way you will get a spet/oct car is if some one backs out. In the North East 4matic cars especially are tough to find even for Jan

Dealer changed delivery time...
I ordered an S550 and was told my slot was Nov/Dec.....now the dealer calls and says because of my nut brown nappa leather option ($2,290) which he says is on backorder, my order got kicked out by MBUSA and i lost my spot. Sound correct, or did they find someone who was willing to pay premium over sticker and screwed me by selling my slot?

how long after your order were you bumped? dealer should have know via netstar if your order was possible right away. if there was an issue, netstar would have requested that your dealer contact MB to finish up the order.
If you placed your order weeks ago and are getting this now, you are getting screwed

In my experience my dealer told me right away that something wasn't available so I would have to wait or change the order. When he went to put the order in and chose the trim I wanted, a pop up said this configuration not available at this time (or something like that). I believe if MB accepted the order and you got a PO you may be getting screwed. MB orders from their suppliers very far in advance which is why orders are locked in months before production dates.
Obviously there is a chance that this is true and it's back ordered but if you got a PO number I think that's unlikely.
Can you call another dealer and ask them to configure a car? That way you would know for sure.

I have a diamond white with white porcelain interior, sport package, 4matic coming in the northeast. I have a deposit on the car and I'm only 50% sure I'm going to buy the car. If things change can I sell my spot? I'm in the northeast btw.

IMO it's a tad bit shady/dirty to sell your allotment but to each his own

you can sell anything if you have a buyer and an understanding with your dealer that you are selling your spot to someone else. The car may have your name on the dealer's order sheet but it still belongs to your dealer till you pay for it.

Selling spots or reservations is a pretty common place in other industries such as aviation. I remember when people would sell airplane reservations and make hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Not sure how the auto industry will react to selling spots but I guess time will tell.
