Does anyone have any updates on the status of the new S Classes being delivered to customers yet? Last I heard they are sitting at VPC waiting to be trucked to the dealers (about a week ago).

No, the release date has been moved back to October 15th and no cars will be delivered until then.

My understanding is that cars will be released from the VPC on Ovtober 15. It will then take few days to week for dealers to receive them.

Seems odd that they would release some cars but hold back others. There are 13 dealers across the US that have cars (38) in stock and for sale (see autotrader.com).

They may be selling them. I doubt they can release them.

My guess is the cars are sitting at the VPC and are physically not on the dealers lot.

No U.S. dealers have the actual cars yet. They won't be officially on sale until Oct 15th like they're saying.

Saw the new S-class yesterday, and drove it. Very nice! I asked why the delay and my salesman said the IRS wants a gas guzzler tax. Just another wild rumor.

I forgot to add. He has three built cars at the VPC that have not takers. They run from $110,000 to $120,000 and are fairly well equipped. So there should be cars out there if you look.

I knew there would be. This is why I'll be going to my dealer before my car gets here, and if I see something on the lot similar to my build, I'm gonna jump on it and let someone else have my order.

Trouble is, if you want a 4mattic you have to wait. I do not think production starts on 4mattic's till November.... I may be wrong though.

I sure hope dealers have some available soon as I did not place an order on one because I figured they would have some available. Fingers crossed. But I may try and wait on a 4 matic. Of course my dealer is tryin to sell me on a 4 matic

I'm #18 on the list at my dealer, but they expect 8-10 to drop off... But I ordered a 4mattic... So I won't see my car till Jan-Mar. If it is any later, I may wait for a 15 with the 9 speed tranny.

I think you're right, I am wanting the 4M as well, and will probably have to wait until the new year

I doubt that. This one is more efficient than the last (2012-2013 engine) and that one didn't have the gas guzzler tax.
