Perhaps a moment of silence is in order to honor the death of Mercedes Benz. It is hard to believe that in just a few short years we will all be lamenting disappearance of the S-Class due to the C-Class's design. I am guessing the CLA will wipe out any chance the CLS has as well. The SL will likely die a similar death due to the similarity in design of the SLK. Truly tragic. The good news is that it is not even remotely possible.

I'm still waiting for the $200 per month model. I'm assuming that there is no drive off fee. I'll get one for each of the kids, maybe I'll even get one for the housekeeper.

+1 But, what MB really needs is a 10yr/100k mile warranty. Now that MB is copying Hyundai's signature four-wheels-and-tires/per vehicle design scheme all the way down to having front headlights and rear tail lights, why not copy the warranty too?

As M-B moves more downmarket, and makes their cheaper cars look identical to the more expensive cars, you'll see the M-B "prestige" diminish. It's simple logic, and it's already happening to the SL, the CL, and soon the CLS who will all see (or have already seen in the former cases) some aspirational status cannibalized.

You can get that all day long on a C Class, and soon a CLA, and soon a GLA, etc. I'm getting quotes sent to me for E350's in the low $300's.

I've posted tons of ads of E Classes at loaded-Camry lease prices and C Classes at Jetta lease prices. Not to mention the plethora of members getting both cars at bargain-basement prices akin to much cheaper MSRP cars.
Here's one of many examples:
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...you-pay-3.html
Fact is, nobody discounts as heavily as M-B as the market clearly values many of their models vastly under the joke of MSRP prices. These are just a couple of many endless "fire sale" E Class discounts, and C Classes lease for $199 with little drive off all day long.

They were giving away an E Class for $349 a month yesterday?
Could someone from Brooklyn, NY have gotten one from this dealer even though it was in San Fran? Or would local MB Dealers have to match it?
How could they possibly give it away for that price?

oh please, they had 1 at that price. Chances are, they get you in the door and then tell you its gone, and all they have left are the $500+/month leases. Plus, who wants a base E class?

I just love misinformation. While we're talking about Mercedes going downmarket, like 30K where they were just a few years ago anyway, but let us totally forget that they are expanding up market also with a new upmarket S and more variants planned. Ignorance is bliss.

Prove it with the SL, CL and CLS. You dont know what you're talking about as usual.
Where is the prestige measured? Prove where it has diminished.

Unfortunately almost everything he writes is toxic, designed to enflame rather than inform; there are some people that simply can't like one thing without hating another.
I for one like MB's and show so with my wallet, but there are also so many other cool cars/brands. All have their pros/cons, but I am not so small to talk them all down...

I have had K-A on my Ignore list for a while and my forum experience has been better for it (except when people quote the guy).

I just got an Email for an E350 going for mid $300's with only $2,500 drive off. M-B wants the "sales crown" this year and they know that there's only one way to get it (as if having the largest, most diluted lineup wasn't enough).
As for the S, IMO on the roads the presence isn't all that profound already so when the C takes over that exact look, I have a feeling the W222 will be in for a massive reconstructive facelift like what M-B has been doing to all their cars after they about-face on them.
It's just common sense (to me) that the C will take away from the S' specialty and give it a downmarket look on the roads.

With regards to the A8 - What you are saying is Audi is more known for their smaller cars and intentions. What are you talking about? So is the 3 series to BMW. The C Class to Mercedes. Every car manufacturer has a lineup - and there is a larger middle class which can not afford the highest model and across the board the best selling car has always been the mid priced car.
Yawn Fest - may be your opinion - but you don't own an Audi A8. I do. I disagree with you wholeheartedly and although you can type as you wish - perhaps thinking before you speak rather than just doing your best to make yourself known on this forum would suit you.
You seem to want to be heard from around here but as usual, quality is more significant than quantity.
If the folks want to entertain your mindless rants, they can do so as well.

The best bet here is to just let him rant and rant and quit replying.
Its more fun to talk about cool things on this forum than it is to continuously dispute utter nonsense.

He's been like this for years. Just talks and talks with no experience to back up what he says, or actual facts.

When he's called out - he will fight with more useless facts because the only thing worse than obscurity to him is being called out.
