Check Engine light on this morning

Well, stated the car this morning and got a check engine light which has not gone off. Car only has 150 miles on it... It is cold outside, maybe 5-10 degrees over night, but the car lives in the garage which probably did not get under freezing... Have an appointment scheduled for Monday.

Anyone else have a check engine light come on already?

If you have put gas in your car. Check to make sure the gas cap is tight. If it is not, it will cause a check engine light.

Dealer told me the car miss fired and the Check Engine light came on from that. They did a complete work up, and could not duplicate the issue. SO the cleared the code and told me to come get it. I'll keep the board posted if it happens again.

kinda nice to have an obd2 code reader so you can at least have a look at stuff like this. You can clear it without the trip to the dealer.

Its a first year vehicle, stuff happens.

Light came on the next morning... Drove directly back to the dealer. They replaced some "coils" and wanted to keep the car overnight. I told them I needed it and they released it to me. So far, I have had the car back for 12 hours or so, and all seems well. I will let the forums know if I have any new issues.

Not bad at all. They swapped out a few faulty coils. Have not had the issue reoccur. This is what warranty is for. Machines break. MB fixes it. I am satisfied. Love this car!

Mercedes Benz E320
My E320 was parked for almost week. The last time I drove the was a during a snow storm with a temperature below freezing. The gear lever is stuck on park with dashboard message saying ESP and ABS malfunction. Contacted dealer and they recommended toying the car to the workshop.

Seems 2 of my friends also had squeaky brakes. They were bad from factory.

oops didn't see this thread but got the CEL just now, odb2 reader says cylinder 8 misfire. I'll clear the code and see if it pops up again since that is what they did for you, thanks.

I think it is official now, the S-Class launch is buggy as hell. Brakes and oil leaks and cylinder misfires? Ridiculous and unacceptable on such common items. None of these these things are new, the brakes or engine. WTF?

Maybe that is why the guy in charge of the launch left the company for "personal reasons".

I use an Actron OBD they are excellent, well priced, carry it in the boot. Fits nicely along side the first-aid kit, in its own carry bag.

It's weird that they spend all of this $$ in R&D but issues are frequently pop up.. I guess it's just really a machine manufactured by humans, it's not going to be perfect and we all appericiate the engineering that goes into this car or brand..

Technology is racing ahead of us, sometimes we get left behind.

Yeah I agree, but these are basic things that I haven't heard about on other Mercedes'. Squeaky brakes? Oil leaks on the same 4.7L V8 that has been around since 2011? Doesn't make sense to me. These items should be as solid as a rock by now.
