Anyone's front axle drops overnight...???

This may be normal, but it just seems like the car drops in the front over-night after sitting a while. If so, the air-struts may be bad... Has anyone else noticed this....

Can you take a side view? Its hard to really see how low it drops. From that angle - it's difficult.

CALL YOUR DEALER - There was a bulletin put out.

LI32.22-P-058343 FEB14 – 222 vehicle drops at front axle on one or both sides overnight, replace air suspension strut.

Chucky, wasn't this normal for the airmatic at least on the last gen? There was a release valve in the fender that lets out air, sometimes when you open the door, etc.

TBH i'm not sure. I'll do some research though and report my findings. I've only had ABC suspension since W220 era (2002)

I know. I have always had ABC. That's why I don't know if it was a common issue. When Jason asked me if it was a common problem on airmatic, I couldn't reply from personal experience because I never had Airmatic.

Still doing research on it.

Haven't noticed any drop on ours and it can sometimes sit for a week between drives.

Little things to work out in first year models.

Do you have it raised?

It looks higher than mine in the first picture. As if it is on the higher setting.

It could be raised. I'm wondering if someone can take a pic after it's been sitting up a while so I can compare...

Definitely looks like you are using the raised setting in the first pic. Works great when cleaning the car and washing the wheel wells.

Looks like the car is lowering to the normal position.

Here is a pic of ours, with airmatic suspension, after sitting for 1.5 days in the garage.

Here it is after turning the ignition on for a few minutes:

Here's mine this morning before I started the car. Please excuse the dirt. As you can also see, I leave the tires at the lower end of the pressure spectrum. Otherwise it would be a spine cracking experience.

Next time you bring it for service, I'd mention it to them, along with the bulletin I posted above. 99% there's nothing wrong.

If I recall, my previous 550 did what your 550 is doing now. I used to even wonder if the thing lowered as I was driving, till I realized I was being too analytic.
thats
I think if you wake up and see it sitting on the floor...then perhaps its time to call Roadside.

I think its ok to be **** about it - just don't want you to worry about what you are being **** about until its really a problem. Diminishes the driving pleasure.

the pictures aren't really gonna do much.

You should really measure from the wheel center cap to the fender and record the measurements over say a week.

The front of my car (airmatic 220) doesn't drop a mm, but the back can sometimes be a bit lower.

Anyone wondering if this issue applies to his/her car could check the leak from the area shown by the attached photo.
