When the car goes to B3 status they set the actual production date. Don't be surprised if it gets pushed back a little at that time. I know the S550's are being pushed back but not sure about the 63's. Wouldn't surprise me if it was the same.

For those of you who have Split View do you actually mind it if during an hours-long drive your passenger settles in watching something on it, headphones and all, and completely zones out? I'd personally feel like I was the chauffeur if my front passenger did that...

the destination: could I put up with being a 'chauffer'? depending on the reward upon arrival
but it's not much different than someone being plugged into any source of media these days.......namely the passengers cell phone.....
I used to ride with a guy back when I had a lawn care job(loved that job)
and he was always on his phone.......made for very poor conversation....

Aside from the remotes, there's the Mercedes-Benz Touch App which is available for both iOS and Android. In some cases, it actually works better than the COMAND knob and remotes - you can do text entry with your phone or use it as a touchpad in the browser. And it allows you to select which "seat" you're in so you can manipulate your seat's respective controls. I knew this app was coming out but could never find it until yesterday.
Now if only MB would upgrade the speed on the cellular modem, the S-Class may actually be a reasonable browsing alternative...

My build is slotted for the 3rd decade in June - still don't have a firm build date yet...

I am thinking to add splitview option with my order but according to my dealer, SplitView is not allowed in PA so they can't allow to enable it even if I ordered that option. I need to bring the car to another out of state dealer to enable that.
Anyone ran into that situation?
Also with splitView, the passenger can use the screen to manage other Command functions (such as seat controls, internet apps; in addition to watching dvd's) while the driver can have Nav stay on for the whole time concurrently. Is that correct? I can see the use of the splitview feature to allow my wife to use the remote to change seat settings, select different cd while my side of the screen don't get to disrupted.

And yes, you are correct on the above statement. It's a very cool feature, and few cars have it.

Jason, thanks for the answers. I just called my dealer to see if he can add that option for me still. My order is scheduled for End of June build. He may be able to make that change, I hope.
Did you end up having someone in NY to turn that feature on? Or it was already enabled and your dealer just left it as is?

Had it enabled in NY. But if your dealer is cool, all they need is the star tool, or find an indy shop that has one and knows how to use it.

Don't know if 816 is standard or an option or not available at all in the US but you can retrofit it. It only needs one additional antenna (plugged to the rear of COMAND). Then pair the remote control and COMAND with Star diagnosis.

Thanks fellows for the information. I am not sure if HUM is what I'm looking for, it has the same features as MBrace. I was just looking for a option for my rear passengers to be able to make changes since I don't have rear entertainment....

Does anyone know the button sequence to enter into engineer mode ? The deal said all 15-16’s have split screen capability even if you did not order the option. The setting to turn it on is in the engineer mode along with shutting off the lock on voice, nav and dvd watching while in motion.
Cars with Mouse pads have a different way of entering the mode as the 14’s had a * # in the sequence.

Not sure if this is how it's supposed to be, but I ended up getting four remotes. Two for the rear seats, one for the front passenger, but then what is the fourth one for? The driver? A spare?
Aside from the remotes, there's the Mercedes-Benz Touch App which is available for both iOS and Android.
