Our Story: Traded in G wagen for '14 S550
It was really tough for my wife, but she traded in her G today for an S550.
The car comes Monday night/Tuesday. We got a great price on her trade in and $3k off the car with $1k of that coming from USAA. They swapped another dealer for the car for us.
Palladium with black interior. P01, Driver's Assistance, heated steering wheel.
Sadly the salesman who sold me my C class refused to take any more off the price of the S class, even when I told him I had a better deal at another dealership. So I had to call him today and tell him that we wouldn't be coming by as we had planned. He condescendingly told me that he's glad we're happy and then hung up on me. I was pleased to not give him any more money. I've already spent $130k at that place in the last 5 years.

Congrats, there must be a huge difference between G Wagen vs S Class . Either model is a pinnacle and masterpiece vehicles in their class as well
You must also be pampered by W222's swift maneuverability in tight corners

I agree! There are a few good one's out there though. We we're going to buy a 2014 G550 for $109k with designo. It was a great deal. But the salesman would only offer $36k for our trade-in. He went up to $38k like he was doing us a favor. He said the car was in fair condition because of the mileage. Mileage and condition are two separate things. He said our G would end up auctioned off and shipped to Africa because no one wants it here. He also told us another dealership and another person were after the car to get us in there before the weekend.
On the test drive, he didn't know much about the G. He was quick to show us the mercedes aps and stuff. But he tried telling us the windshield wasn't heated and the lines throughout it were for the radio antenna.
I did a little research using another dealership. They looked in the system and saw that this G was special ordered and the person backed out. I even knew how long it had been on the lot. So I knew what was going on. Obviously we left that deal. The guy hasn't contacted us since. The car is still on their lot. I check online every few days for fun.
For the S550 we were able to get $4k more than this guy would give us for our trade in. This dealership will probably sell it on their lot.

Looks great! Enjoy the car! Trusted dealerships are indeed a rarity. Park Place Dallas has their own racing team, 13 dealership brands and I believe they are considered a top best place to work in Dallas which is why I use them and have always been satisfied. From my knowledge a good dealership will represent themselves well and if you have the funds to get what you want they will support you as best as they can. Hope you find that one great dealer!

Very nice looking car. I was torn between palladium silver and iridium silver with black interior. I chose the latter but I'm sure I would have been very pleased with the palladium as well. I see that you also ordered the standard wheels. I think we are the only ones on this forum that did so. -

I actually like the standard wheels and the fact that fewer S classes come with the standard wheels makes them stand out more IMO. Where we live there are lots of potholes and generally poor road conditions, so I would rather stick with the stock 18" tires. Less chance of bending a rim and better ride quality. I don't think larger wheels give much of a performance gain on a large sedan like the S. I also think the S class is not a sports sedan and with performance wheels it looks like it's trying too hard to look like something that it isn't.
We did not order this car, it was the closest we could find on a lot with what we wanted. The dealer shipped it from another dealership about 300 miles away.
