Good point, and I hope so too. Hearing 'cammer describe it as he did makes me kinda apprehensive as it's what I had reservations about. Hopefully it just flows better in person to me, but I'm not counting on it.

It's not about boxiness or curves. It's about a design that doesn't look relentlessly flawed by way of designer schizophrenia.
I prefer curves over boxiness, but I don't think the S Coupe looks totally rounded by any means, it still has lots of angular elements. Maybe that's part of my beef with it as it looks like it wants to be smooth but carries over these wayward and clunky angular elements.

S 550
Finally saw a new S Coupe on the road today - I think I was north east of Atlanta. Nice car but will need to let the grill "grow on me". IMO the sedan has a better presence, but this was just a quick glance. Hope to see one again soon closer to home.

This car is not being offered in the US for 4 months and no dealer would have any demos yet.

I know the Alabama factory has the AMG GT, S Coupe, GLA, etc. on the premises. Wouldn't surprise me if a corporate S Coupe has made its way out on public streets simply because it's already been officially unveiled.

Yeah I saw a W222 being driven months before it was on sale. I've also seen numerous W205 C's. Always filthy, always with some kind of odd tags.

I just can't help but see it looking like a beached whale with clunky surface forms. Like the designers went on a drug trip that went horribly wrong.

That's the car! I am ordering one soon for European Delivery. I have heard that the Bengal red interior may come available as a stand alone option next year but am also being told that no designo options are available for european delivery. Sooo...probably will order either Emerald Green or Lunar Blue with the standard porcelain/espresso Napa interior, P1, Driver Assistance, and 19" twin 5 spoke wheels (no charge option). I am researching what the tire codes are for the 19" wheels though as they must be R02 to be allowed in Austria between November and April. Otherwise I'll plan the trip for early May.
