Hello everyone. New forum member here and about to place order for a 2015 S550 Coupe this week.

Still learning the details and getting up to speed but wanted to ask you all what are the must have options?

Trying to figure out which color also.. (Iridium Silver, Diamond Silver or Paladium Silver!)

Anyway I will keep you posted and welcome anyone sharing thoughts on the Coupe before I purchase.

Also am talking to a few dealers (Los Angeles area) about what cars they have coming in October that are un-allocated to see what colors/specs are available to choose from as that will be the fastest way to take delivery.

Color is a personal choice. I like iridium silver but other colors are nice also. The Designo exclusive leather is worth the cost to me as it elevates the interior tremendously. Also premium package and driver assistance are must have

Burmester high end 3 D audio is very good. I had it in the S 550 sedan. Also consider the sports package

Getting an unsold allocation would be the fastest way to get delivery. I don't know how demand and supply are for the S550.

I have a S63 coupe that has an estimated production date of 9/15 and allocation was a real pain to get. My understanding is that allocation is pretty tight with limited production. Most dealerships I called already had many people on list with all allocations already sold.

Of the 3 dealers I've apoken with so far they each have 5-6 S550 Coupes arriving in Oct that are still available. I'm getting the colors/options of how they have been built tomorrow.

Love the Designo leather! I hope one of the incoming cars has it in nut brown with iridium silver.

I could be wrong but it seems to be when ordering a light exterior with the nut brown, the color of choice has been the diamond white. I have seen this combination several times and each one has been gorgeous.

Don't believe I have ever seen nut brown paired with iridium but good luck. Maybe someone had your taste when ordering the cars. Not even sure on this first round if the dealers had a choice.

Initial round for S63s Atleast - dealers had no choice. My sept build - I was able to customize it to an extent i.e. few exterior colors were not available. I wanted Black (040) and magic sky control but both were not available. I chose Obsidian black.

For Oct build - choice is probably there if the order is not already locked

I love the 360 camera on my sedan and use it all the time when parking. I also like the heads up display to see speed and navi. (In addition to the above comment on Drivers assistance and prem 1 which are essential)

I have a MY2015 s550. I totally agree with that. 360 camera, HUD, package 1 and Drivers Assistance are very nice options. I also like the night vision, where we have a lot of deers in our area; it gives me a sense of extra safety.

As to color, I like the look of darker color but knowing it is hard to keep clean. So, I picked the grey/silver (palladium silver) - something in the middle.

So this may be a dumb question, but given that so many people have orders in, allocations are gone, etc etc....when the *^#*@# will MB put the configuration page up?

My question is when will MBUSA release the pricing. The configuration usually goes up when it goes on sale so probably next month.

I found an incoming (October) S550 Coupe in Anthracite Blue and just put deposit down on her. Options include:

- designo Porcelain/Espresso Brown interior
- Premium Package
- Sport Package
- Warmth & Comfort Package
- Driver Assistance Package

Now the wait begins. There maybe some delay on exclusive nappa interiors. My production date was 9/5 but still no update.

Assuming the number of configuration strategy is similar to the CL W216, most S class options will be standard for the coupe. Their may be some colors that are unique to the coupe.

If you look at the DOG in this thread, the differences seem to be minimal.

This is interesting and confirms what my dealer told me yesterday when I took a test drive of their Edition 1 demo. Apparently these are being released only as demonstrators and not for regular sale. Very odd....

They are for sale, and depending on the dealership they will be sold as soon as they get titles, others will hold for demo. Dealer choice.

They also should have put a real black on the edition 1, did not love the obsidian black on there :/

I think demos have magnetite black. Are there some with obsidian? Regular black - must be a production issue because it was not available until September 3rd decade.

Correct it's magnetite, sorry. Was like a dark slate, car is unbelievable but could have picked a better exterior color :/

I take delivery of a 2015 S550 Coupe Edition 1 next week. The Edition 1 are all the same and only come in black. My wife has determined she wants a white car instead and we are selling this one. The car is in the Los Angeles area. If anyone is interested let me know. We already have the Vin number. We will sell it for $180,000.

The sticker is 138k and it's still available at plenty of dealerships.

You are quoting the sticker price without the Edition 1 package which is $10,800. The dealers here are already quoting $20-$30,000 over sticker Mark up. I am also trying to recover our sales tax and license.

Good luck if you are able to sell it. Anyone would be crazy to pay 20K - 30K over sticker. Recover your taxes - not their fault if you already bought one.

I bought a s63 coupe and paid less than sticker. 180K for a S550 is a joke.
