Not problem.

This car you posted has been saw for a lot of people around the world. It's an excellent unit, I and other person are fanatics of Mercedes Benz and search every car, i know a lot of S65 AMG around the world and this unit is very beautiful, if it's your car, congratulations.

There are more problems with paint in other S class, i'm sad for it, Mercedes Benz would put more attention in it, now with S600 Maybach if MB want compete with Bentley and Rolls Royce, need put attention in details.

After 3 weeks at the professional detailing shop, I was finally able to take my new S65 for a spin. As many of you, I am yet to do a more detailed exploration of all the features and behaviors of those features, however what I can definitely tell right now is that this car drives like heaven. It is soft when it needs/wants to be and stiff when it should be. The seats are extremely comfortable. The steering appears to have been gifted with medical equipment precision. The breaks… ahh, these CCBs really make a big difference! I have never experienced such as a predictably smooth braking. I have not yet listened to the 3D audio system, because the exhaust sound is a lullaby melody on its own.

I did notice that the transmission is a bit clunky at times on low speeds (e.g. in a traffic), but it seems like a common abnormality on the MB transmissions in general, especially while it is in self-learning mode. I had a few manifestations of similar jerkiness on the ML63 and it appears to have been gone on its own after a few hundred miles. Not a big deal.

Here is a picture made by a professional photographer at the detailing shop.

It is fantastic that you finally have your car back.

That picture is spectacular. It almost looks like the car is not real. I have often wondered how they get that effect and drown out all the background.

Congratulations and would love to see more pictures.

How did the paint defect turn out?

It was not possible to achieve the total disappearance of the paint imperfection. designo Mocha Black is richer than "normal" Black, making it difficult to match the flakes texture so that the repaired spot becomes invisible at all. I can still see it under certain lighting condition. The good news - it does not affect the performance characters.

The above picture was taken at the photo studio set up directly on the shop’s premises. There was no need to digitally remove any background, as the car was standing at the bay with white floor, walls and ceiling. These guys are true car enthusiasts/nuts.

Can't believe they have that kind of studio. Would love to find someone down here like that.

Enjoy your car.

Since there is a sea of other photos showing the similar combination of color and trim, I had to become somewhat creative when taking pictures. Here is a small selection from today.

Wow! Beautiful detail shots. That car looks much cleaner than any new car delivery from the dealer. I particularly like the leather headliner. They should make that an option on Designos as well.

I tried to get the leather headliner in my custom build S550, but was told no.

They said it is reserved only for S65's because that is the differentiating part of the interior, as compared to the other models.

You are right - it is not a trivial unit. It came with 24-105mm f/4L IS and EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS2 lenses. After many months of playing with the kit, I'm still learning how to use all of its functions properly.

10-22mm lenses cannot be used on the Mark III (due to EF/EF-S mount incompatibility). Do think 16-35mm (part # 1910B002) would be a good alternative?

Yes, the 16-35mm on a full frame camera (5D Mark III) will yield a comparable perspective that the 10-22mm will provide on a crop sensor camera (cameras accepting the EF-S mount).

Awesome camera! Great shots, love your use of the bokeh effect you have with the full frame. I am contemplating adding that camera, been using the 7D but miss the bokeh effect that I had when shooting full frame back in the film days.

Thanks, guys! It is a pleasure to deal with professionals. Santa has been instructed to fetch the new lenses for me so that I can use the proper equipment when taking pictures next time.

Looked at the North West website. A serious group of people.

Would love to have something like that down here.

The services are incredible and the pricing seems reasonable for what it is you are getting.

Loved the view of the shop.
