My 2015 S63 Coupe
I am starting a new thread as the other thread has been destroyed by constant arguments.
My S63 coupe is on a truck heading to Dallas. My Specs: 2015 S63 coupe Obsidian Black with Exclusive Black Nappa leather Burmester 3D High End Audio Red painted calipers 20 inch multi spoke forged wheels - silver Warmth and comfort package Driver assistance package Refrigerator in rear console AMG Performance Steering wheel Night view assist plus Also I am getting: escort radar 9500ci install, 5% tint, renntech full tune - 701hp Xpel ultimate paint protection film - wrapping the entire car. |
I am glad you did this. It was not fair what happened.
We are all very excited to share your excitement with your new car and it was not possible after the thread got hijacked with ridiculous arguments that will never stop between certain people. What day was your car released? Should be in your driving hands very soon and looking forward to pictures and your impressions. How are you sleeping these days with the wait for your car so close. :rolf: |
Can't wait to see pics of your S63. I got to test drive the 550, can't imagine what the 63 will be like!!
|
no wheels??? :) this car would look so amazing with some nice HRE's
congrats again... I think I saw a new coupe on the highway last night......I haven't turned my head so quickly in a while :) |

Sleeping hasn't been good for days now. At first I was waiting for my sedan to come and now the coupe. I tracked the ship like a stalker both times - sedan and the coupe. I should have the car in my hands next week and I can't wait. I will post pics once I get it. In the meantime - few pics of my sedan before the tint and extra stuff. |

Love that porcelain interior on the sedan. Is that jet black?
I haven't had time to digest that porcelain interior as I took delivery of the sedan at 8pm last Monday and dropped it off at another dealership Tuesday at 7am for tint etc. I was not around this week. Will probably pick it up this Monday. |
beautiful pictures Sam, that is a gorgeous interior! nice executive back seat too:naughty::naughty:

Arguably the best luxury coupe on the market now, regardless of price. On another note, it really is unfortunate that one nasty troll can derail most of the threads and interesting discussions about these cars. Let's not feed him and ignore his yapping so hopefully he would go away.... |
Gorgeous! Love the 2 tone black/porcelain. Can't wait to see your coupe. I'm really tempted to go get a 550 coupe today. Dealer has the edition 1 car, and a loaded out black, with black/grey designo interior, minus the night vision option. Tempting for sure....

What is the use case when one owns the sedan and the coupe? In other words, why would one need to have both? I'm just trying to convince myself whether or not I will need the S-coupe as well. :) |

I have a question for you, Sir. What is the use case when one owns the sedan and the coupe? In other words, why would one need to have both? I'm just trying to convince myself whether or not I will need the S-coupe as well. :)

Great specs. I'm ordering the same in Lunar/grey minus the refrigerator and with carbon package inside and out. Skipped the carbon ceramic brakes as apparently they can be quite high maintenance if car is driven a lot.

That's why I skipped them. Maintenance is high on ceramic brakes

Unless you track the car on a regular basis, the maintenance on CCBs is nothing.

I thought they were expensive to replace.
When you track it regularly though, even CCBs wear out and the bill is horrendous. I know a lot of guys tracking cars at every opportunity (that came OEM with them), like F 430s,etc, who replace the brakes with conventional setup to save $$$. Having said that, IMO, MB or BMW or Porsche are quite reasonable vs cost of replacement in a Ferrari (mid $20ks) |
CCB should be standard on any >$150K AMG
CCB offers immediately apparent improvement in pedal feel and confidence at any speed in latest SL65; IMO, biggest dynamic weakness of SL65, a dynamically phenomenal car, is std steel brakes (if someone had skimped on spec'g a trivial <$10K option on a $250K commuter car) Zero diffce in mtce costs (who the hell keeps these cars beyond 2yrs anyway???)....if anything, suspect steels have poorer durability vs CCBs in wkend mtn twisties driving (tracks are rather irrelevant/inefficient/boring to anyone w/nearby mtns and yr-round 50-80F driving weather ala SF/LA) Any 63/65 are cheap, disposable tech devices akin to phones but w/more troubling safety decay curves as they age (esp the myriad of airbags and sensors/systems which can be rather dangerous as they decay) post 1-2yrs of typical user driving (or even if just sitting unused in a garage) |
No doubt ccb is a better braking system but have heard from several owners with Merc ccb that they are prone to catching a lot of dirt and dust in the pads, causing a squeaking noise sometimes. Anyone heard or experience the same?

Sam, when do you take delivery?
