I have an anthracite blue 222 and I love the color. My wife very much likes the color and car for that matter. One day recently she saw me flipping through a few sites and I pulled up a 222 in white with a dark front grill (looked like a gun metal grey, best way I can describe it). She stopped me and said go back, I did, and she said -" now THAT is a hot car. What is it?" I laughed and told her the same as my car just in white. She said without a doubt I should get it in white next time. Frankly, I don't disagree. I'm not a white car fan, but for some reason it just works on S classes, Bentleys, RRs etc. Probably exudes a bit of a pedegree. Black is for livery, white is for royalty...

I bought an SL550 for my wife in Diamond White. It looks great and I think it does not get dirty fast. I have a S550 in Black, it looks great when clean. A good friend just got a S550 in Iridium Silver, I don't think it is the best color for the car, I think Diamond White would look better.

White all the way, and I'm only referring to the two colors involved on a Sclass s221 & s222. Now when it comes to other models, iridium silver may be a better option. I think the color depends on the model it's not just the color alone because as much as I love my white cars all models don't look great in white.

I have a pano roof and love it, but I TOTALLY agree with this statement. Why did they make pano roofs standard

Agree. I have iridium silver on a GL63 and it looks great. On a S class I wouldn't even think of it.

For those of us who live with 100dF heat for 6 months of the year, White is the only color that makes sense, especially if the car gets left in the sun.

IMO (and not trying to offend anyone) I think the best way to make a car blend in and avoid attention is to get it in silver.

White is gorgeous when contrasted with black tinted windows and black interior.

+1 on Anthracite Blue! Although to me, it's more Grey. I see no hints of blue in it except in the sunlight...where there's light blue specks. Compared to my Capri Blue '08, which is more purple than blue, Anthracite is completely grey. Amazing color though! Looks designo since it's rare, but hides swirls quite well for a car that's so dark!

Two points: I have never cared for the metallic or pearl whites. I just LOVE the beautiful, PLAIN, SOLID whites like BMW's Arctic White and Audi's Ibis White. MB should offer a solid, non-metallic white on every vehicle they make, in addition to the other, fancier whites.
My second point: NOBODY has mentioned the gorgeous Palladium Silver. I just ordered a new S550 in Palladium Silver with Black Exclusive Nappa yesterday. With no solid white, it's my first choice.

You could have spec MB to spray 'polar white' don't know why it isn't offered on the S but is on other models

Agreed. I don't have a clue why MB doesn't have polar white on the S class. It used to be the #1 or 2 color. It looks so much better with a bright white...

Interesting. I see far more blue than grey, but grey is certainly there in some lighting. My F01 is in the background and you can certainly see it's more blue...
