Copying Music to Media Register?
Does anyone use the Music Register to store music internally in the car? I started to copy over a CD and it looks like it has to play the entire CD at regular speed to record it?
Any other good suggestions for storing music? I really don't want to use my actual phone, since I don't want the car to answer incoming phone calls.
Thanks.

Yes, I did a drag and drop of MP3's from iTunes. And once i inserted the card I went to Search, from there the Command system did a lookup and populated all of the the artist and album information.

I loaded a bunch of stuff in my CLS a couple of years ago lol, but have not put anything on the HD of my S.......hadn't gotten around to it for some reason, but yes, it does cycle through the songs while it burns them to the HD, I don't use a phone or anything for music; just ripped and regular CD's haha......guess I'm old fashioned or something

Sounds interesting and I will look into it.
What is the Music Register? Is it built in memory or something? I see a lot of strange media sources. I'm all in, and am open to getting more toys in the car, but maybe this music register is already in the car and I just have to decide to use it? I'd like to learn more.

I loaded about 2000 songs onto my harddrive, songs taken from several hundred CDs....most of them CD-Rs.The process took me months of periodic effort and was appallingly cumbersome,IMO.My two Bimmers allow one to directly imports MP3s from a common thumb drive, making the same task one that takes about 20 minutes (if you've converted your CDs to MP3s as I have).

I've started using my PC to rip, convert, and copy 320kbps AACs (unfortunately MB doesn't support any lossless formats) to an SD card...and just insert it into the car to play directly.

I've got around 700 songs saved on the hard drive, and I didn't have to play through all of them. I've got approximately 20 SD Cards from Galaxy Tabs so most of my music is stored on them. I'll see if I can make a video later on in the week showing how I did it.

Recording to music register
Have 2015 ML. Have recorded many CD's to M.R. You DO NOT have to play CD completely. Just insert CD-start PLAY-go to M.R.-CLICK on RECORD. Recording to M.R. will start. Display will advise when recording is complete-usually in less than 10 minutes depending on length of time on CD. Recently recorded 40 tracks in less than 20 min. Have done this on several MB's that I have owned. Newest models do this much quicker than older ones.

The only location I import songs from are the SD Card. I'm guessing you were talking about the 2011 E Class. I guess they must have updated the system by now so you should be able to do it.

I use an old iPhone 4S that I don't have cell service on (I'm sure youl could use an iPod with wifi too) and keep it in my armrest console. It syncs over wifi whenever I get home to a playlist from iTunes. It's nice, I don't ever have to take it out of my car. I just update my playlist on the computer and the next time I drive into the garage, it syncs. You obviously will need a descent wifi signal in your garage, but its not hard to just place an inexpensive access point there. Maybe I'm just lazy, but I find it such a hassle to have to keep updating an SD card, the music register, etc manually.

I have a question. I copied a few burnt cd's to the music register the other day. It doesn't name the folders and all the songs just say, track 1, track 2, etc. These aren't mp3's, they were burnt cd's a friend made. Why aren't the names of the tracks listed, and is this normal for burnt cd's that aren't mp3's?? w221.
