Do you have 18", 19", or 20" wheels?
I have a 2014 with the 19" AMG Sport Package wheels. It came with Continental SSRs but other 2014 19" AMG Sport Package also came with the Michelin tires. I remember commenting at the time of pickup that I wished I had gotten the Michelin's. With that said, I have been extremely happy with the Continentals. Most of the dissatisfaction has been with the run flats on the 20" wheels and not the run flats on the 18" or "19" wheels.

I think it depends on where you live/drive such as NY or PA. NY and PA have some of the worst potholes whereas in CA the ride on the 20" have been reported to be great since CA does not have the giant potholes like NYC.

I have 19" wheels.Funny, but I've seen some posts that most of the problems have been with 18" and 19".Ironically,first car I've purchased in awhile with no tire drama.

This I believe is fact: No matter how nice a car may ride on run flats, it will ride better and quieter on conventional tires.

I had them on a Lexus LS460L and after 30K miles they were still quiet as can be. I'm pretty much sold on Bridgestone tires.

Streamliner, these are the tires you got for the 18" wheels, correct?

I switched from the runflats to the Primacy MXM4 and while there is a definite improvement in terms of going over bumps, it feels that the runflats were grippier. How do the Serenity tires compare to the runflats? Did you get a chance to drive the car with the runflats or was the swap done prior to you receiving your car?

The run flats rode fine over smooth roads. But, whenever they encountered something like a bumpy seam in the road, an entrance dip into a parking lot or even lane markers on the highway, you would notice that the feedback was sharper than it should be in a car like the S. That was much improved with the Bridgestones, but the huge difference was in tire noise. On the highway, the run flats were what I would call noisy, while these Serenity Plus tires are virtually silent in comparison.

Yes, Those are the tires I got, of course in the appropriate size. And yes, I put about 400 miles on the run flats before the dealer swapped them out.

why did you choose these tires ? did you made a comparison, some research and found that these tires are the best tires in market ? what about Goodyear or Michelin?

It's probably a toss up with the Michelin MXM4's, but I've had the Bridgestones before, I've had good experience with them and am currently very happy with them. Until I have a less than wonderful experience with them, I'm sold on Bridgestones.

I have also used Bridgestone tires on occasion and have had good experiences with them.

I WAS SOOOO close to going to non runflats on my 2014 S550. I bought them and they wouldn't fit! Going to 18" from 19"s did not fit as I have the AMG sport option. Now they are for sale, all brand new. More details at for sale forum

We switched to conventional tires on both with significant improvements to noise and ride quality.

my '15 came with 20" goodyear f1 runflats. they are not nearly as quiet or soft as all my previous s-classes' tyres were. however, in one year of ownership now (and just a shade over 6,000m), these runflats have saved my bacon twice with potholes causing bulges (almost assuredly blowouts with conventional tyres) but allowing me to get to a dealer to get them replaced (under a dealer tyre-and-wheel warranty). the wear on the goodyears is fine. however, if i was to keep it, and when the time came to change the tyres, i would look to michelins as they have always been my favorite tyre for the s-class. the question remains to stick with the runflat or not - irrespective of tyre brand. i usually changeout cars every year - so it is about time tthink about this ,,, but ,,, my '15 still looks and smells new. so. there's that.
