Best Lease deals Aug/Sep 2015

I have been following this forum for a few weeks now and finally became a member today.

I am in the process of leasing a 2015 S550 Sedan. There is one that I am interested in with a 108,000 MSRP which the broker is giving me 16,000 off MSRP, 2500 walk off, 1199 payment including tax for 30 months with 10K a year.

Is this a great lease deal or should I wait till September for a possible larger discount?

Any advice and tips are much appreciated.

16K of MSRP sounds pretty good.
I'm being quoted 6.5K off the 115.5K on a 4Matic. Sounds like I should be pressing the dealer harder? Anyone else getting quotes?

wonder what a 36mo lease would be like. My understanding is that the sweet spot for Mercedes lease is 36-39 mo.

Where u located?

Res 50% - I thought this would be much higher for a flagship MB sedan, this is almost as bad as Audi. MF .00086

no trade or down payment involved. just the 2500 walk off.

I dont know if I should wait till September and get a better deal. My logic was that in September they will really want to get rid of the 2015's so the discount might be larger than the 16,000 plus Mercedes Benz financial might offer better leases with manipulation of MF and residuals.

also for residual after 30 months, 10k a year - it is at 58%. Meaning I pay 42% of the car.

what do you guys think?

For a lower-priced S-Class (no pun intended) this seems like a really good discount.
Residuals will not change upwards; I didn't see your MF but the MF's I have seen are very low already.

The only thing that typically changes is factory cash but I would expect them to wait until year-end for more.
I remember how pricey the remaining 2014 models stayed long after 2015's were on the lot...

Delicate balance, 2016s should be on lot within a couple of weeks

You'll definitely be able to do better on a 2015 the longer you wait, but that's offset by an ever shrinking selection of 2015s

I'd rather get 14% off a car that's exactly what I want than 18% off whatever is left

I guess my only concern is how much of an additional discount is a better deal.

I always feel like the dealer can do something better. In the past month I kept on hearing "cars like this never get discounted" then it went to "10,000 off MSRP" then "15,000 off" and now it's at "16,000 off". whats next?

The dealer told me the MF is at .00047 which is 1.128% interest.

They also told me tier 1 and tier 2 get the same MF, which doesn't make any sense to me as you would assume tier 2 would get an inferior interest rate.

What do you guys think?

I am in Downtown LA but have shopped around in a 100 mile radius.

I was reading other threads on this forum and some are saying 15% off MSRP plus 3500 in incentives (and that was back in June 2015)... are people exaggerating or just making numbers up as that is over a 20,000 discount off a mid-level loaded car.

I'll answer as if you're new to buying cars

Incentives fluctuate, I'm sure those were valid at the time, more incentives will likely come since they want to clear out the 2015s

You may never get someone else's deal, you don't know all the circumstances, I could get 15% off, and you come after me and the shop refuses to go higher than 10% off, time of month, time of year, how close the shop is to a volume kicker, lots of variables

I think your upper limit on a leftover 2015 discount (before incentives) is 20%, just depends if you're willing to wait late into the fall

I'm sure LA is like NY, the silver/black ones start to disappear quickly once the deals get enticing, easy way to refresh limo fleets

Like you stated, markets and other variables (time on lot, relationship with dealer, etc.) vary, but $20k before incentives seems overly optimistic. Have seen nothing like that in a $100k to $110k range car. In a $150k car, sure...

The car is not EOL or even close to a facelift.

Personally, I take a deal like that in a heartbeat if it has the colors/features I want. Who cares if you pay $50 less on a car a month you didn't want...

I also remember how pricey the remaining '14's were...ridiculous compared to how deep the discounts for '15's are now!

I'm stuck in my $2100/month lease for 24 months and only 7500 miles a year! Same location as the OP, but I put nothing down (I rolled over registration and everything into the payments).

You might want to hit up a dealer and see if you can get out of your old lease and a take a 2015 at the low prices.
MB tried really hard to get me out of our SL and into a new one (9 months pull ahead on 30 months)...

I agree with Wolfman, rather have the car with the color combination and options I love than to save 50 bucks a month and compromise on colors and features that aren't ideal.

besides premium package, sports and 20 inch AMG, what else is a must on this car?

$2100 / mo for 24 months at 7500 miles a year for a 2014 S550? Details of the car?

Yeah, although the price was closer to $113K at the time. I got a 12K discount I believe back in 7/14 (happy 1 year anniversary - don't even have over 5K miles yet - will probably let kids drive it to school just to fill the mileage limit!); P1, 20" wheels, Rear Seat Package, Driver Assistance, Air Balance Package, Comfort Box, and MBC.

The money factors must have been higher - I know I received the lowest MF available because my dealer showed me the MBUSA source book with the grids for the different models, lease terms, and residuals.

Lease would have only been $100-125 cheaper for 30 months at the time, I think.

When I first went shopping in the $120K price range, 3-4 dealers kept offering $2100 when the S Class first came out, but with 5K-7.5K down

I don't think I'm going to trade for a '15 though. I think my S class days are coming to an end, as I'll have my C class for another year. So I probably won't extend/renew another W222 lease. This will be my last S Class for a while since I also still have the W221 running strong.

I don't think you should trust your dealer anymore, next time get a few quotes from different shops

IIRC MB sends out MSRP documents for MF, etc to 'help' the sales process

I just checked and the payment is actually $2000.11/month (tax incl), not $2100. I'm sure if I put any down payment or paid registration, it would have been closer to $1800 (tax incl.), which wasn't bad during this time last year when it was a mix of 14's and 15's.

Believe it or not, this was the lowest quote from the 3 dealers I sought out. The same dealer gave me the 51K 2015 C300 this January at $500 out the door with no down payment either, 36 months - 7500 miles, which wasn't terrible either.

If I waited until now though, I think I would have been much more comfortable though with a lease under $1800.

For those in the LA area, never go to Mercedes-Benz of Beverly Hills, they literally were saying the lowest was $2100 with 5K down. Bull**** dealership all around - even the parts department charges 10-15% OVER MSRP for no reason.

Beware of salesmen bearing (printed) gifts

I'm not saying you didn't get the best deal possible in your area, just that it likely was marked up from the 'buy rate' if it was from that retail sheet

We've all fallen for it at one time or another

Just consult the edmunds prices paid forums, you'll always find updated MFs etc over there

It was the lowest MB buy rate at the time according to MBFS - it wasn't a retail sheet, it was directly from MBUSA. Last time I checked Edmunds was for my Chevy when they wouldn't show me the Chevy MF sheet. I didn't fall for anything but thanks for the concern.

I have told my SAs about the Edmunds quotes and they always say yes, we know but that is NOT your price.
