What problems buying a new 6-month+ old car?

I'm planning on purchasing a new 2016 S Coupe in September of 2016.

I'll be buying in in Oregon and then immediately driving it home to Maine on a 4 week road trip.

By then, the 2017's will be out and there may be some unsold bargains on new, unsold 2016's.

What issues should I be on the watch for with a car that my have been sitting on the dealers lot for 6 months or more?

Will things like tire flat spots eventually work themselves out?

What other issues should I check for before accepting delivery?

Thanks in advance for any help......

These along with the sedans are heavy cars and permanently flat spotted tires from extended sitting (4+ mos without moving and under certain conditions) can be a problem. I've also noticed brake rotors that have had very heavy corrosion from sitting outside and in some cases needed replacement. Both of the aforementioned items should be taken care of before you buy the car and under warranty. I would also be careful to check out the paint especially if the car is outside and in an area where there is acid rain etc. I always try to avoid cars that have been sitting for too long if at all possible.

Why even worry about such things so far down the road? I seriously doubt dealers will have S Coupe sitting around that long, if they're smart they keep those pretty rare and not over order. How do you even know you'll be getting one that old? Before you take deliver the dealer will go over the car and prep it.

September 2016... really... and you are already worrying about that.
