2016 Navigation Map update
Does any know if there is a 2016 Navigation map update.
I've asked my dealer and they don't seem to know, which I found rather amazing.

According to the website at MB - http://mb.navigation.com/product-lis...en_US/MBNA/USD
Seems like November is the earliest planned.

I was at the dealer yesterday getting B service. I asked parts about the maps and he said they just released the updates (December 2015). He had to get back to me on pricing.
He just called me back and as it turns out, the updates are now on a USB stick. He also said this is a free update. But, they are waiting for the USB drives to arrive and he will call me. Service will do the update of the car for free! Go figure...
So, you may want to let your dealer know you want the update so they order the USB drive.
Note I do not know if the free part is a perk the local dealer is doing or a Mercedes policy (I suspect the latter).

The USB drives are automatically shipped from the mapping supplier HERE to each dealer. Depending on the dealer size will determine how many they get. It is planned that the dealer will automatically receive these updates every 6 months.
The USB are "masters" for the dealers and will be used over and over again. In addition to the USB an activation pin is needed that the dealer will generate.
For vehicles with COMAND in the USA the update is included free for 3 years as of MY15.

After update can enter address in motion
I had the update (v5.0 maps) installed in my 15 S and it enabled address entry while in motion. I thought this was a glitch, but when my wife took delivery of her new 16 Mercedes it also allows address entry while in motion!

No I could not enter and address while driving before the update (I had the 4.0 maps). I can do it with 5.0. And I'm not going to let them update me to 5.1!

I agree. Once you have the ability to enter an address while driving then it's hard to go back. I understand the rationale . . . safety, but everyone has a smartphone these days and nothing stops you from trying to enter an address into your smartphone while driving (which is far more unsafe in my opinion). In any case, I used the Bimmerguru download to unlock my ability to enter addresses in motion (as well as USB Video Playback) and simply waiting to see if it is compatible with the new 5.1 version before I get the update.

I upgraded from a 2007 to a 2014 S550 CPO in July. Noticed it has 2013 version of the maps. Should they have updated the maps before I took delivery of the car?
Also, I saw the question asked earlier, but not sure if it was answered - do the 2014s get free map updates? The dealer tells me that I can no longer just stick the DVD into the player, but the update must be done by them at a cost of $136 for the labor. Is that correct?
Appreciate your help. Thanks.

Speak with Parts Manager, dealer should have USB map update part # BQ6460336 that should have been received 12/22/2015.
MY15 customers receive up to 6 map updates free of charge (max. two per year) as part of Multi-Year update program (option code 502) for the first three years of ownership.
Anticipated next release is tentatively June 2016.

Sorry to ask again, but does MY2014 get a free update? I bought a 2014 CPO that came with 2013 maps.
If I need to pay, is $249 for the maps, and $136 for labor typical?
Thanks

MBUSA CPO pre-delivery inspection (PDI) requires NAV maps be present, but does not mandate current version. Dealer discretion to offer gratis update at time of purchase. Depending on your relationship with dealer speak with sales manager to see if they will offer a goodwill update or at the very least substantially discount update cost (approximate installation time 40 minutes).
