Tread life

Getting ready to pull the trigger on a '16 s550 4matic non sport. Having BMWs for my last 5 cars with run flats, I have experienced great tread life with original equipment getting up to 50,000 miles per set. There is a disclaimer in the MB brochure indicating that there may be accelerated tread wear on all stock tires. Anyone have any experience with this? Dealers & MB customer service have been useless.

Tread wear

Don't expect to get much more than 20000 miles on the Continental tires. Even less with AMG sport models. Heavy car and soft tires = rapid wear.

Nah .. just getting the standard 18" - not anything low profile.

It's a big car. We had Goodyear runflats on our 750li. Also a big/heavy car. We switched tires at 10k miles and they were about half done.

20k miles sounds about right...

very true, I've also heard it mentioned that 4matics eat tires faster too.....I always seem to get a pro rated set, as they never live up to their mileage

The more you use the go pedal or the whoa pedal, the less milage you will get.
cornering above 0.4 Gs will also increase wear.
