Leasing a new 2015 S class
I'm thinking about leasing a new 2015 S Class from the dealership .
I've attached the quotation . Can you guys tell me what you think ?
In a nutshell he's offering 10k below MSRP plus 3k to pay off my current lease on my bmw . So in theory I'm
Being offered 13k below .

actually not to bad! I think you should look at the new 7 Series before making any decisions. All the rags are saying they are much finer cars now and you get more options plus all maintance is paid for and the car is much better looking all the way around. BTW the interest rate on this deal is actually AMAZING!

the discount is not competitive compared to what I am being offered here, 18% off MSRP
however your MF is good, I'm being offered .00037, but it seems to vary depending on the discount, the more the discount the higher the MF, so they make their money on one or the other
all the offers I've had on 30 month leases have a residual of 57%, which is not as good as the 59% you are being offered, I wonder if the residual is different in different parts of the country?
can anyone answer that?
bottom line, you have room to negotiate on the price of the car, there are lots of 2015 S550's out there right now

Of course, this is assuming everyone is using MBF. Other banks might have different residuals.

Guys I also have to add , maintenance is included also .
18% off MSRP would equate to a $18,900 reduction . I am in the NYC area , how common is a 18% off MSRP ? How much should I offer him to make this worthwhile ?
On a side note : I actually stopped by the BMW dealership to get numbers on the new 7 which I'm highly considering. But I'm thinking being that this car is brand new , and the options i want, it's looking around a MSRP of 115-120 which I don't think they will be giving much of a discount for a brand new car for now. Your thoughts ? I'll end up with much higher payments .

Well, let's be realistic. The car isn't doing really as well as expected and even though the sales are good they aren't great. The design has some odd design queues that they will be addressing in 2017 with the facelift. Also, big time electronics changes are coming.
On your question about 18% off, usually they is about average(sometimes a bit higher) but its a fair deal. Just remember your stuck with this look for 2 years after the refresh and you cant get out of it, unless you plan on paying out the bung hole.
So, I would wait. Your driving an AMAZING 13 750LI which is beautiful. I know your lease is coming up but I would move into the 7 Series because from any designers point of view there isn't a dumb line or awkward design flaw to be found. I would speak with the BMW guys and ask what their money factor is and what if any kind of deal they are willing to make. As you know the S and CL class has not met expectations of sales and they are working hard to correct the flaws. There are a lot of dealers basically doing everything they can to shed the 15's, so the 16's can come into port. I would hold off unless you just have to have this car. Im not saying the interior isn't amazing (even in the base) but I have spec'd out a 750LI and I am about to push the button. The car really for the very first time has pushed all of my buttons and for me to admit a BMW excites me, is like giving praise Mohammad and Im not Muslim. So, check out the BMW first, get the facts and move on that. For the first time you can even get a wood and leather wheel on a BMW. They have put this car leaps and bounds ahead of the S Class in every single way.

Sales were phenomenal for 2014 models but appear to settled back to reality, as expected for 2015. Since the dealer inventory was based on 2014 sales, there are plentiful, so great deals can be had for shoppers.
Even though the remaining 2015 models in stock appear to be mostly less popular optioned models (at least in our region).
I am just not sure what odd design queues you are referring to that would be addressed in the MY18 facelift. Care to elaborate? Or what flaws is MB working hard to correct?
Btw, electronic changes will likely be implemented prior to a facelift, as done in the past.
To be sure, the new BMW is likely the most capable 7 series to date. Better in every way but just not that exciting to look at (personal opinion).
It is also a carbon copy of the S-Class options list. Virtually everything the W222 introduced has been taken over as BMW-firsts. I would take that as a compliment
Also, go to the BMW forums and try to find more than a handful of people that actually like the new 7. Most are underwhelmed while recognizing the improvements. Haven't seen a single person purchasing one either.
The 2013+ 7 series are not plagued with their engines failing in under 60k miles like the 2009-2012 models, but that left me with a bad taste about BMW's reliability on the new one. I personally would wait to see what shakes out.
Their lease rates are unattractive (just like the W222 was at introduction), but will certainly change quickly.

I took a look at the new 7 series BMW in person, very nice car, but just not impressed with the looks, the driver's seat was not comfortable for me, still much prefer the S class

I'd need at least 15% off (so your 3k plus disc = at least 15%) plus no go on 6000 down, only payment should be 1st month, DMV fees and minimal origination fees (595 plus maybe 100-200 for dealer)

I'm not sure how your state works , but in ny we have to pay the taxes upfront .
So your thinking 15-18% off MSRP is a good deal ?

Incorrect but it's subtle
NY you can roll the taxes into the payment, basically MB pays the tax for you at signing, and you pay taxes plus interest on taxes in your monthly i.e. MB is loaning you both the car and sales tax payment
When MFs get this low, I don't pay taxes upfront
If you find the build you want, 15-18% is great and do the actual math, you'll see how little 1% moves your payment

perfecto,
As another point of reference, my 2015 was about the same MSRP ($115.8K totalling $117K with pre-paid maintenance). I live in CT and my total 30 month lease (as a single pay) was $36,300 for a total of 30 months with 10K miles per year. It appears that your total is $45,870 for 30 months with 7,500 miles per year. My residual is less at 58% for 10K miles per year and MF .00001 for the single pay lease.

Really ? How is that possible ? Is it because you paid everything upfront ?

The buy rate for single pay leases on 2015 S550s is .00001. For auto-pay it's .00041 and .00051 without auto-pay. Single pay leases tend work best when you need a lump sum write-off for the year, not to mention lower a significantly lower MFs.

It's a bad deal. I'm at 11% off on a custom order 2016. You need to be in the 15%-20% range! Also after today MB could increase the trunk money for the winter event. Today is the last day of the OCT pricing. This means it's possible that after today even larger discounts could be had!
If you do the math even with the 3k lease pay off for your other car you are at 11.1% off on a 2015.
If you PM me the VIN I can tell you how long they have had this car on their lot.
TLDR: Don't buy the car at the current pricing. Discount needs to be doubled almost.
