seems to me he's just defending himself Wolfman...............guy is taking it from many presuming, stuck up nerf hurters that have a, now tarnished, silver spoon protruding from their temple......so someone wants to go from a C to an S........and you guys jump on his back like a wild pack of concentration camp goons looking for something to eat

I dont see those exact kind being sold on ebay or internet, seems like dealer is the only option. Also I wonder if someone here has an official Dealer Guide that lists the exact details for MY16 changes.
LovinMercedes: Yes, Maybach would be a significant upgrade for me. I have actually shunned automotive purchases (viewing them as silly, except my RV which is 135k) and instead have focused on upgrading my homes, but now being a 36 yr old and having already achieved my reasonable lifetime goals, I felt its time to get into a better car

I am still unclear about the difference between a 15' and a 16'. 
In any case, my intentions are to brag to my neighbors who owns 15' s600, late sl63, Ferrari 430, and a Murcielago roadster that I'm exploring/ordering a new MB.
Shheehh. I'm really looking for a pre owned fully loaded 14' or 15' s550 within the next 6 months . . . I think . . . undecided. Oh, but I'm currently borrowing an E350 (11').
No worries. You win. I'm waiting for more substantial information about the 15' vs. 16' s550 . . . . and Merry Christmas to everyone. ho. ho. ho.

Besides considerations that are VERY personal (I switched from a VW Beetle to an Audi A8, a Porsche 991S and now recently an S550V4), because people may not want to spend crazy amounts on money on cars, and then something cliks and they decide they want to, I think there are TWO IMPORTANT considerations about the S-Class:
1) Huge difference for me between 2015 and 2016 is the Remote Start function, not available on 2015 by MB
2) the Maybach does NOT come in 4WD. Big, big reason for me to get an S550 instead of a Maybach, in spite of the quite small space in the back, compared to my A8L and to the new BMW Series 7.
Good luck, and enjoy your choice, whatever it may be....

If we can get hands on the MY16 Dealer Guide for S-550, that should detail the exact. There are some links scattered on this forum for the guide, but they dont point to any guide itself.

Very useful info. This means, model year changes are identical to what they were on a C. On a 16 C300, I got the free 5-year MBrace subscription that provides remote start function via an App.
Lack of 4Matic pretty much rules out a Maybach for a northerner.
