2016 S Coupe Questions

I posted this in the Coupe section and received no responses:

I have a new 2016 S Coupe 550. I am coming from a 2010 S Class. I have several questions and could use some help.

First, is there an easy way to simply press one button and have the driver's seat massage come on? I could do this on the S Class by having the massage as the star button but cannot figure out how to do it here.

Second, since the middle keypad has been eliminated and has turned into a mouse, how do I press one button and have my radio tune to my favorite channel(s)? Pressing radio and then scanning just isn't cutting it.

Third, and its not a big deal but when I use the easy exit/entrance feature, my driver's seat actually moves forward not back. Perhaps this is because I usually drive with the seat pretty far back. Any ideas how to get it to work properly?

Fourth, I find the under rear bumper kick open the trunk feature to work on an intermittent basis. Is there some fool proof way of opening the trunk consistently when I put my foot under the bumper?

I have read the manual over and over again and even watched the videos. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just got mine also and I also find it lacks the ability to easily get to the functions I like. Don't think there are any way around it.

As for the bumper kick, the trick is to do a quick kick and retract. Do not hold your foot under the bumper, it will stop the upward or downward motion of the trunk.

Thanks. Hopefully, someone else will reply with additional answers. Also, the automatic parking brake is quite bothersome. All in all, I really like the car but I really do NOT like the limitations created by the newer technology. I have gotten around the ECO start issue with a Mid-City module but the other issues I mentioned are steps backwards as far as I am concerned. I have owned Mercedes for the past 25 years, inlcluding many CL's and S class cars. Never before have I encountered such a host of annoying, little issues. It's great that the car can park itself. I'd rather be able to press a pre-set button and tune to my favorite AMradio stat

i found that i don't have to bypass ECO anyway as I always set the transmission to Sport. This automatically disables ECO

If the coupe has the same buttons in the center console like the sedan (I think it is the same), there is a button specifically for the seat mesage near the comand controller.

i'll try to help here ... but like many others i am dismayed at how complicated benzo made the comand in the new s that makes it a multiple-step process to do mundane everyday tasks like you discuss above or like just turning off the climate system.

1/ no. you must activate the seat massager button on the centre console then select which of the five massage programmes you want to activate. then click to do so. i - like you - was looking for the favourites button when i first got my car last march; alas, it does not exist. (i had it programmed in my 221 to turn on the seat massager).

2/ either you cannot or i don't know how to do that. this new system confounds me and i've gone back to my dealer multiple times for lessons and even the dealer delivery "specialists" sometimes cannot get it to do these basic tasks we used to take for granted, apparently.

3/ you need to reprogramme the setting. note well that if you are already as far back as the seat goes, there is no more room for the seat to travel. so it won't go back any further on exit, but it certainly shouldn't move forward on you. as i say, try reprogramming the function.

4/ use a football punter's kick action. a quick kick forward and backward and it will work like a charm. mine does. consistently.

ajm, thanks re: "4". I, too, was having trouble with consistent activation of the trunk. I was doing a side to side motion, which may have confused the sensors.
