Sharing my experience with dash knocking/rubbing sound and my fix.

I just want to share my experience with the the issues I was having with my annoying interior sound. I drive an S63 and since I had it imported, I have been hearing knocking/rubbing sound which is coming from the front passenger side of the dash. With no help from the dealer I decided to tackle the issues myself. Removed my dual screens, removed the centre air vent trim all seemed nothing wrong until I tackled the glove box. Behind the glove box there is shroud from what looks to me like a blower is not connected properly, and the shroud is quite flimsy which makes the noise when the vehicle is moving even on smooth surface. The shroud is very difficult to get to without the complete removal of the top dash, I decided to just add a piece of dampening tape to see if the sound had gone, a short test drive confirmed that the sound is coming from there.
When time permits I will take the whole dash apart so I can fit the shroud back in properly.

Anyone who is interested I can post a picture.
