Hidden page in the OM, go to the last page of the OM and dip it in Ice Water, it will reveal hidden codes...
YouTube video some where. If I locate it I'll post it.
P.S. It will also control the Sunroof. So, if all windows and sunroof are open, and your heading into a tunnel, it will close all windows and sunroof, once you exit, hit it again it puts them all back to the same position...

Cooling Glove Box. Check for a Black Dial, make sure its open. In the summer, AC cooled air will be pumped in to keep things cold, like a water bottle.... Not as fancy as the $2000- rear fridge, but a option / tip none the less...

New Tidbit, need to try it out.... Turn on traffic announcements, now when they get annoying, press and hold the mute button, you should hear a beep to stop all traffic announcements, press and hold again to reactivate. No need to go into the nave menu to turn on and off.. Cool if this works...

Thanks for the tips, everyone. It's always neat to find out about these hidden functions. I wish Mercedes would publish these tips and tricks, because I'd never find them out myself.

Found this one out by mistake. Sit in your car and wait for everything to turn off. Then hit the ON button ( that turns the Nav screen on and off ). The Command functions will work while everything else in the car is turned off...
Not sure how useful this is, but it's a " trick ".
I've also gotten the dash screen to light up 3 different ways now. Normal, where the tach and speedometer just light up normally...Secondly keep the drivers door open and wait for everything to turn off. Then close the door and watch the screen. And lastly, wait for everything in the car to turn off with doors closed, then turn on the Command with the ON button on the console. Wait for it to light up and then push the start button once and watch the screen.
Enjoy!

Hi all,
Thought I'd start a thread so I could learn from all of you little, ( not so obvious ) tips and tricks regarding our car.
I'll start with one I learned by watching someone do a YouTube review of his S550:
If you push your foot down hard on the brake pedal, it puts the car in a " hold " mode. Touch the gas pedal and it takes it out of this mode.
Anyone else?
Steve

MBS63AMG posted>>> discovered that if you press and hold down the lock button on the fob, that the rear window shades and rear window shade goes up. Conversely, if you press and hold the unlock button on the fob, the shades will go down. All of this while you're not in the car

One of the first things I searched for when I got mine was how to get the passenger side mirror to tilt down when reversing. My previous car did it, but the s550 didn't, or so I thought. But of course it does:
Put the car in reverse, adjust the passenger side mirror in the lower position AND KEEP the passenger mirror button selected. while putting the car in park. Next time you put the car in reverse, the mirror should drop down by itself as long as the passenger mirror button is kept highlighted.
BAM!

If you want to add POI icons, eg safety cams, restaurants, etc, then it is straightforward to do. You can find out by saving any existing POI to an SD card, then take it out and look at the format on a computer. MB permits owners to use any of the reserved, built-in POI icons, which are generally red themed and totally different from the POI icons COMAND used itself. Here is what they look like.

And if you save existing MB POIs in COMAND, then if you already have some POIs on your SD card with custom categories, then you can save the MB ones to them as well. If you don't already have them, you can't.

If you want to silence guidance instructions just press the volume roller switch while sat nave is "talking"
Pushing the indicator stalk forwards when the headlights are on auto mode, automatically dips the headlights when oncoming traffic is detected.

Bringing this back to life, as it was most helpful to me as a Newbie, even after hours in the OM.
I don't have any of my own right now, but I'd like to hear more.......................? TYIA

I discovered something today that is pretty cool. 99% of the time I keep my navigation setting in the "north up" orientation.
But on some occasions, I do want the Heads Up orientation such as when I'm just about at my destination and the roads get confusing such as in a large city.
I discovered that if you already have the navigation map on the large screen as you're driving and you suddenly would like the Heads Up orientation, you can quickly switch the navi to Heads Up without having to go through all the menu options by simply pressing the navi button one more time and the screen will split. On the left side the navigation will automatically switch to the Heads Up orientation. Press down on the navi button again (or press the "back" button) and it goes back to full screen "north up" orientation as originally set. Also while in the split screen/heads up display, the right side of the screen will allow you to go to "compass". Click on that and you select the "compass on the map" option and while you are in the "heads up" mode, the compass will be overlayed onto your map.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Saw above someone mentioned holding the unlock button on the FOB to put the window shades down. Actually if you keep holding it all the windows will roll down, the sunroof will open and the drivers seat ventilation will turn on. The remote must be near the drivers door to do this. Hold down the lock button on the FOB and all the windows and sunroof will close and the seat ventilator turns off. This feature is useful in hot climates like here in Florida where the cars interior gets real hot sitting in the sun. I open all the windows while outside and let the car cool down a little bit before getting in. On the newer cars I think 2016 and up you could use the remote start to cool down the car that way but thats not an option on the 2015's and 2014's as they did not have remote starters available as far as I know.
