S63 Tires

My car is at the dealer and they are saying I need new tires. I have 12,000 miles on the car. Is it normal to go through tires with 12,000 miles?

Any brand / model tires do you guys suggest?

You might be lucky you got that much out of them. My 2015 GL-450 with 20inch OEM tires have to be replaced around 12,000 miles

Bridgestone Potenza is what I would recommend at first. I had Michelin Primacy on my previous car .Rear tires worn out in the middle of the treads and tires were squeaky too.
Pirelli must outlive Michelin being a harder compound as far as I know but I don't like Pirelli sorry

Thank for all replies. Now that you say that I remember them being changed before under tire warranty for road hazard. I think at least 2 or 3 tires were changed. That being said I wonder how many miles do they actually last? 6-7K?

I should invest in a tire company with the amount of tires I have to buy. My wife has a GL63 and it goes through tires very fast.

Believe it or not, my previous car, a 2015 BMW 750Li with staggered wheels got 40,000 miles on a set of Goodyear Run Flats. I hope to get the same results on my Continentals.
The BMW tires never showed unusual wear patterns and were just as quiet when I had them replaced as the day I drove off the lot when it was new.

If not, I'm switching to Goodyear tires

Here we all are, driving $100K++ luxury sedans, and so many here "BMW" (BITxH, moan, wine) about replacing tires. Amazing! I have non-run flat Bridgestone Serenity Plus tires on my S550. At 15,000 miles or so, I replaced the tires. Cost about a grand. Sold the used set on Craigslist for $300.00. The ride comfort & safety on a set of tires is WAY better during the first half of their life than the last. We all blow hundreds of dollars going out to dinner, so why not keep nice, fresh tires on our cars? When I was poor, I drove on tires with 30,000+ miles on them. I don't think anyone driving a W222 is poor, but then what the hell do I know?
P.S. Oh yeah, I almost forgot: there was a promo going on, so with my new tires, I got four tickets to Lego Land for my grandkids, worth about $350.00!

Are you auto crossing the truck? I traded in my 2014 GL with factory 20's on it. There was still life left with 35k miles.

Sam- As far as the S63 goes - what factory tires do you have? I had Michelin mxm4's put on the car before I took delivery. After 24k the fronts were down to 4mm and I replaced them (michelin covered part of the cost under warranty). The rears are still at 7mm. I personally would stick with Michelin, they are the best when it comes to tires...
