had planned to purchase the vehicle after the lease but things changed.
i had my 2015 s550 tuned by renntech.
and had them put an exhaust system on it. but now im learning the exhaust system was my original system just gutted out so im looking to replace the cats because i dont want to get hit with a huge $2-$4k bill

can i use a universal cat?
will the 2013 s550 cat work?
i seen magnaflow offers an aftermarket cat but
its only for the last body style (w221)
any idea's?
any one want to trade stock system for mine (so cal?)

I don't have an answer for you but I am curious if you are happy with the tune? I have been considering doing it on my 2014 but wasn't sure if it was worth the price. Did your dealership know/detect the tune?

Go to the AMG forums, a few recent cars are getting nailed with a warranty void

Thanks... it is definitely not worth sacrificing a warranty (IMO)

I spoke to John Bologna at Renntech and he said my local dealer doesn't... bummer. I live on the cost in California (near Santa Barbara) between LA and San Fran. After reading the AMG thread (it may just be one dealer with four cars) I think I will wait until my warranty is up. I don't use sport mode all that often anyways

Your dealer will try to push through repairs under warranty, but if it's questionable and there's a fear that MB corporate will audit the repair, they will highlight the tune to MB corporate
