That's funny because several years ago when I got my first Benz...it was black on black with black trim.....and yes, the royal blue center caps

You have a beautiful car! Congrats!
I like the 20" wheels better from the looks but they are also a pain to clean. Yours will be much easier.
That said, I personally think that the S-class does look more stately in dark colors.
White is beautiful in dry, warm climates but in winter will look messy IMHO

i had the 20" option on my '15 that came with the sports package. i had three blowouts in a year but they were runflat so i was able to get to a dealer. i traded the car for a g-wagon primarily because i lost confidence in the s. if i was to get another s again, i would get the 19" wheels as for me function>form.

If you like the style of the 20 inch wheels but can't equip them because of the weather, try the Multi spoke Turbine 19 inch wheels from the E-Class. Same exact style, just in 19 inch form to fit the E. I've seen this done before.

Went with 20's on both my S-coupes...all S's are large cars and the 20's just seem to proportionately look better.

I don't recall the wheel offset of the new E class but it's important to make sure it's a match or very close.
In prior models, they weren't

Is that because of the giant S class body?

19inch

Sorry I’m chiming in a little late but want to help all other readers: i had AMG 21inch rims on my GL550 and the car would vibrate in high speeds every two months. It was basically the AMG rims wearing tires leading to unstable high speed rides. I used to think that higher models are better, AMGs are better period. Well, they sure do look better but do not ride better.
Mercedes rides are phenomenal so whatever but you don’t want to have your car shake and have to change tires every several months for the look. It is just not worth it. I’m thinking about buying 2018 S560 4matic but this time I’ll definitely get the 19inch five spoke rims.

S550
Hopefully someone in this thread can help me I just got a 2015 S550 4M , I have the factory 18x8 all around I want the 19s. I dont want 20s as I live in Philadelphia like some of you and its murder on the wheels and I want a better ride. Should I go with 19x9.5s or 19x8.5s I dont even know which will fit but im sure out of the two post i put on this board I will get an answer from someone. Thanks in advance.
Lastly is it better to go with the 245/45/19 or 255/45/19 which has a better ride and are more stable.will the 255/45/19 cause any rubbing on the front in due to the extra 10 in wideness.

19" or 20" wheels are staggered. 8.5" in front and 9.5" in the rear. Tires by default are 245 in front and 275 in the rear but none of this matters as the offset defines how far the wheels stick out. From the sound of it you are going for aftermarket wheels. I suggest to either purchase original MB take-offs or closely the factory offsets. If done wrong you will damage more than the tires...

MY17 S63AMG - MBUSA Buyback. MY16 SL63 - Sold MY19 W213 E63s. 2020 W213 E63s Wagon
The W212 AMG comes standard with 19” and the W222 is a much bigger and heavier car. With 19” on the W222 platform can’t be a better or less noisier than 20”. 20” have less body roll because it is more planted than the 19”.
