Remote Start question
hi guys
I've had my 2017 S for a week. Love love love the car. One thing that frustrates me is the Remote Start feature. It seems as though the car cuts off when I unlock the door. My wife has a 2017 Range Rover LWB and hers stays on all the way through which most remote Start systems do.
Is there a setting adjustment or is this how it works.
I want to be able to get in the car, it recognize the key, put the car in gear and go.

Out Of Control!!
I can appreciate the fact that you are trying to be warm and fuzzy, but don't you think you would better served in revisiting the salesperson who sold you the brand new car.
All those questions are usually well covered in the new car walk around, or should have been.

Dont be a dick. This is a forum about all things W222. So I'm asking the forum vs playing phone tag with a sales rep when most answers can be obtained here quickly. If that's the case I could've called Mbrace but chose not to.

It's designed to turn off when you unlock the car. Why? I have no idea. My last car stayed on, which seems like the better option, but oh well. Just wait until it tells you that you can't remote start because you don't have over 5 gal. of gas in the tank....

Half of the ph8cking salesmen haven't a clue about these cars. I learn 80% of the tech questions about my cars from folks on here. So if you don't have an answer to help this guy out, get the hell off the forum.

I've been told the reason for this cut off function is that it prevents someone from smashing the window, opening the door and driving off with the car. Since the car turns off once the car is unlocked and the door opened, you need the actual key to re-start it preventing the smash and drive off noted above. Seems to make sense.

This why I went with Midcity remote. I bypassed all the Mercedes bullshht and this work perfect. I can remote start anywhere and it does not have to have half tank of gas etc. when I get in I just press the ignition button before touching the brake and the motor stays running.

I inquired about remote start for my 2015 S550. They emailed me back that remote start is not available for 2014-17 and no plans to offer it anytime soon if at all
