the new FL maybach s650 @198.7k is a bargain compared to the pre FL(191.3k) considering that it is getting a 100hp boost with the new s65 engine.

Based on the price differential of an S63 and an S65, 4 pistons costs you $80,000. This makes absolutely no sense at all. You could buy a fully equipped E class for the same price of those 4 additional pistons, AND have an S63.

Well, the S65 comes with all the options as standard, and the S63 does not. I bet if you add those up, the cost actually gets up there.

Well, that's in the eye of the beholder. If you strictly go by price, the Maybach Pullmann is the king of the hill anyway.
It costs more than twice as much as the S65.
But the Maybach S650 seems to be a bargain...
At this point the S650 will have the same engine specs as the S65 but with a more conventional tranny, exhaust, suspension and the engine not built by AMG.
That doesn't mean less but different. Interior will be better in the Maybach by virtue of it's rear cabin design and the leather features are the same.

I went to my dealer today to check on status of my 2018 S560 and can confirm the Mrsp of the S560 4matic is indeed $102,900. Interestingly, I priced out a similar equipped 2017 S550 to my 2018 S560 and the 2018 is actually cheaper.

Given what a POS is the 63's MCT, IMO, that's much of what makes the 65 so much of a relatively superior value vs anything else in MB lineup
Anyone who can drive (and for whom any of these cars is easily affordable) appreciates the brakes, steering, chassis set-up, engine/exhaust music of a 65 vs any other MB/AMG
Only other car I would get if S65 Coupe didn't exist is 911TurboS, which ironically has a smoother gearbox and sharper throttle response than 65 in routine urban driving
Yet, ironically, I prefer the 5000lb 65 Coupe over the TurboS in spirited mtn twisties driving....better balance of chassis precision/stability, engine/exhaust/gearbox theatrics of 65 in such driving, all vs an alleged 3600lb "sportscar" or whatever....placebo effects loom large with any >$100K car, as does nominal MSRP vs actual entertainment value realized from any of these discretionary toys

After I just got a 2017 a month ago. Was the total msrp lower or final price after discounts? How much did you get off MSRP

When I priced out a similarly equipped 2018 S560 to a 2017 S550 the 560 was about $800 cheaper by MSRP. I negotiated the deal before prices were even listed. Got 10% off MSRP plus the USAA rebate which for August is only $1500. The rebate for a 17 S550 is $5500.
