I Experienced the 2018 S63 AMG Today!
So today I was at Mercedes of Orlando in Maitland and they had the brand new 2018 S63 AMG! It is their training car and they have it for 3 months. This S63 is absolutely AMAZING! Although they were not letting anyone drive it, I was able to start it and rev the engine and it truly sounds amazing! I attached a picture for reference.

No problem always glad to share. I was getting my E300 washed and seeing and playing with the S63 made the time go by quick. It was exciting. I plan on getting an S class when my E300 lease is up in 3.5 years.

Real question w/63 is whether "new" MCT is any better than the crappy, lemony MCT of past~10yrs
Given AMG couldn't solve MCT in 10yrs....and P refined PDK vs 550lb-ft in recent yrs...am doubtful
And 65's tq-cvtr 7-sp autobox struggles for acceptable smoothness and throttle response in routine urban driving: that box has been out for ~4yrs
AMG clearly has been inept in refining its gearboxes vs usual driving use cases of these cars in (sub)urban LA/SF daily driving

The MCT is now a 9speed and the shifting software has be revised. Early reviews from Germany indicate a significant improvement.
We'll see...
