I guess it's easy because Europe Specs can give you AMG Line Plus while your car is S450
Replacing steering wheels is always an easy, yet pricey process.

Your won't be able to upgrade from the original W222 wheel to the MY18 one as the electronics have changed completely, not just the wiring. Plus the distronic controls have moved from the steering column to the steering wheel.

But its no problem to change between all W222 1st gen. or between the W222 facelift wheel versions.

The big ticket item is the airbag. Expect $2500 for a full swap...

2020 S560 Sedan, 2019 SL450, 2019 E450 Luxury Trim Wagon, '24 BMW I7 on order...
Just placed my order. 2018 S560, non-4Matic, non-AMG Line, pretty much loaded, Designo Mocha Black, Black Exclusive Nappa, MBC, etc.

I went with Mocha Black, because I finally saw one in person and the color just blew me away. It is gorgeous and quite rare. I usually like lighter colors, but with my utter HATE for the Panorama Roof, I feel that a black or near black color makes it pretty much disappear, which is the best I can do, with MB's current marketing of the S Class. Funny, you can order an E Class pretty much HOWEVER you want it, with many more choices than on the S. Seems to me, that that's pretty much BASS AKWARDS! True luxury is having things exactly as YOU want them. The S Class should offer way more options to allow the customer to have it just as they want it. That said, all things considered, I feel that the S Class is "THE" Best sedan available and something of a bargain, when compared to the competition.

Anyway, the lease on my 2015 expires on 12/31/17 and I told the dealer that if the new car did not arrive before year end, when many of the incentives disappear I would probably NOT take it. He is willing to take the gamble, reconfiguring an order he already had in the pipeline. So, "the wait begins!" Sorry Lovin, I couldn't resist.

Congrats Stream. I just took possession of my 560 4matic yesterday. Also traded in a 2015. I was blown away by the enhancements in the electronics. It’s been raining here so I drove it straight home into the garage. Thank god for the lane keeping function. I was trying to figure out all the new gizmos on the way home and strayed a bit. The eco function is significantly improved. You are going to really love the new car.

Congrats! I used to have a Mocha Black S-Class and it is a stunning color. You will enjoy how the different the car will look during a sunny day and going out for dinner at night.

I looked at the MY18 in the flesh and agree that the non-sport looks much better than before, also in person.

Am ready to place an order as well; just need to firm up the discounts beforehand.

You do realize that it rains quite frequently in Germany, yes? The car is made to be driven in wet weather. Why you wouldn’t enjoy your vehicle all year round is beyond me.

I owned 3 x Porsche 911’s and granted I live in a place where it doesn’t rain much, I still drove my cars in the rain. Why not? It rained here today and I had errands to run, rain didn’t stop me from getting in my S 550 and driving it.

PS: the windshield wipers work really well.

The wipers do work really well I agree. I just thought I wouldn’t drive my brand new S560 in tropical storm Jose. Didn’t think it was a smart thing to do.
But I guess some people don’t mind the risk of rocks and tree limbs damaging their brand new car

You said rain, not a tropical storm that has a name...sorry. I’d do the same thing.

Hey, no problem. When I posted I thought similar to you, he won’t drive it in rain?? I almost cancelled delivery because of storm but there was a lull and I really wanted to get it home. Jose just won’t go away. Kicking up winds to 55 and crap is flying all over the place. I live right on the Atlantic Ocean and some of my nearby roads are literally 10 feet from the water. Kicking up some pretty good stones in the street. Plus I am currently in southFlorida checking on my house after Irma. Luckily no significant damage.

Great looking S560. I've been going back and forth about the amg line package. I've only seen the non amg lines and they look great, so I'm not sure it's worth the extra 6k this go around. I have the sport package on my '15 and it definitely made a big difference to me. Anyone seen any side by sides of the two for MY2018?

Also that GLA looks comically bad, but to each his own I guess. Hard to believe that's a factory option.

I know it’s not quite the same, but mbusa site has a picture of the front end of both the sport and non sport models. It’s a slider, so you can look at half of each car at same time. Re: GLA. I texted a picture of my car to my nephew and first thing he said was what is that black thing next to your car.

Thanks for the info. Do us all a favor if you don't mind and take some more pictures of your new ride. Looks great so far. I'd be ordering one with the Diamond white exterior and Porcelain White interior like the one I have now.

The GLA in regular trim or no was never going to to be something I would consider buying for myself. I've never really cared for Mercedes SUV's. It's hard to get out of an S class and then be satisfied with the interiors of just about everything else they make. For me it's difficult to top the mix of luxury, technology and a stunning interior design that Mercedes put into this S Class.

I think the non-sport looks much better than the prior version but I will definitely take the sport package with 20” wheels again. I like the look of our current one and also on the new one.
While streamliner will disagree with me I think that the car needs 20” wheels and the other 20” options are not interesting.

Exactly my thoughts.. I really like the look of the car with the sport package and 20 inch rims. I agree however, that the non-sport model is much more elegant looking compared with the pre-facelift model.

You can't go wrong either way

Ordered a 560 back in spring. Supposed to be here early this wk. it’s been at port for over 3 wks now. Anyway went down to dealership to look at a 18 they already got in. Have been reading about how in the new e-class the iPhone plus is to large for the wireless charging. Was worried the new s-class might have the same problem. For anyone wondering it’s fits easily even with a thick case!!

anyone notice almost all the 18s have the new mahogany leather option?? Seems weird to me almost every car is fitted with that.

I will post pics when I get it. Very nervous as I ordered the exterior and interior colors without ever seeing them in person.

Here’s a few more pics since I just returned from Florida to register my car. Oh, that jet was on the runway when I landed back in RI this am. Just delivered to the team yesterday.

Probably a function of what a particular dealer thinks is going to be attractive to his customer base.

Then almost every dealer nationally sure thinks mahogany is going to be the best seller.

It is probably more likely that MBUSA "pushed" the new interior color to the dealers with the first allocations for dealers inventory.

I have Ruby Black and Beige/Espresso on my '16 S Class. I love the Ruby Black. It is a stunning color. It looks like two different colors depending on if it is night time or daylight hours. Black at night and a dark maroon if the sunlight hits the car. Your interior color will go great with the exterior.

I thought the same thing. I asked one of the sales men the same question. He response, Mercedes makes runs of cars with one specific color and they did the new color so people could see it. I just don’t know that I believe that. People order different colors everyday. I’m with you I think Mercedes made them pick mahogany. I just thought someone off the forum might know.

I hope your right. I’m concerned with the porcelain headliner and the beige floor carpet. I have never see the color interior I ordered and I hope the red isn’t in your face bright. Some pics it looks deep and suttle almost brown. Other pics it looks red!!
exterior I’m hoping it’s more black than red!

Here are a couple pics of my car. I had an Obsidian Black '14 S Class. I had similar concerns as yours on the Ruby Black but after owning the '16 S Class in Ruby Black I want my next S Class to be Ruby Black--It is an awesome color and really has to be experienced in person to understand how great the color really is.

For the floor mats, my '16 came with the light beige mats so I ordered a set of floor mats that comes with the '17 S Class with the same beige/expresso interior. These mats are dark brown. They are so much better than the light mats that constantly get dirty.

The mats in the picture are the light beige Weathertech Liners I use for winter driving.
