Amazon Fire Stick
I’ve been told that if I install the Amazon Fire Stick into the USB port that it will enable me watch TV through the Interface.
Please advise if this is the case.
Many thanks,
GM.

Firestick provides its video ONLY via HDMI connector. USB cable is used ONLY to supply electrical power to the firestick.

Installed this over the weekend, and it works like a charm. Video obviously is through the HDMI port, and power is supplied through the USB port. Just need to get a significantly shorter USB cable to ensure things do not rattle in the closed compartment. The only problem is, the new stick is quad-core, and it gets warm very fast. Normally this would not be a problem, but within the closed space where the HDMI port is, it sadly is. Not sure whether it will be a problem or not though...

Wow, I realize I left this thread high and dry. My apologies. Will try to attach some pictures here...
Close-up of the connection in the rear center console. Still need a much shorter USB-micro cable.
Rear center console. USB power is sufficient, and the device only gets a little warm with 5W max consumption (regular consumption is ~4W during Netflix media playback). It does not get hot.
Watching Netflix from the rear seat...
More Netflix from the rear seat. Good 4G connection through the Mercedes plan.

I've been searching all over the interwebs of how to hook this up in my 2018 S560 like you did and this post is the only thing I can find in the entire web. Anyway you can give me a step by step of how you connected everything? When I plug it into my HDMI the screen just says "Playing Content" but nothing happens from there.
One thing that comes to mind, there are FireTV sticks that are 4K, and if you are using that, that would not be supported by the screen. I am not sure what would happen if you connect one, but before you do, you would need to downgrade the resolution to FullHD (1080p). Can you confirm that you are outputting 1080p stream?

Sorry for the late response. I can definitely give you a step by step as soon as I am back with the car, which should be by the end of the week. In the meantime, can you say more about where you got the playing content? Is there any audio?

I Had this issue too but I selected FULL SCREEN to the right and it worked. Not a scientific response but hope it works for you.

Hey everyone, is there a reason why Google ChromeCast USB device would not work the same way? I want to use Google ChromeCast unit so I can cast from my iphone to the chromecast devide for either mirroring, or even YouTube casting, hence my phone becomes the main controller and the screens are only used as a screen. Thoughts before I try? Also, how do I change the output of any stick from 4K to FullHD (1080p)?
