I usually don't listen to music but, when I do, I find that there is no stereo effect despite adjusting the sound in my 222. Are not most FM and Sirius music channels in stereo? Any help here appreciated.

All music channels are in stereo. Either you have pushed a “ mono “ button ( if this even exists ). You may want to play with the balance left - right and fader front-rear and see if this helps. Also, on mine ( 3D version ) it allows you to position where you want the best sound quality. That could be messing it up as well. Listen to a classical music channel and play with the controls.

Good luck!

Let's address this again. My 'complaint' is that when listening to music, e.g., smooth jazz I hear the sound washing over the dash from the windshield. I expected to hear snare drums on one side and piano on the other. I went to dealer and had concierge adjust settings and still no change. Anyone else notice this lack of separation? Do I have to pay $4K audio upgrade to achieve this stereo effect that I took for granted would be in an S 222?

The system will likely be fine but I suggest to start with proper source material rather than Sirius, etc. If you have a favorite CD that you listen to at home (assuming you have a stereo system in the house), listen to the instruments playing across the channels and then stick the CD in the car. Turn off Surround Sound, important as that mixes stereo sound across all channels and then the source should sound similar to the house. Adjust to your preferences as needed. The sound settings will only be for the CD so when you switch to Sat Radio or FM, you will have to adjust the settings to match the CD ones.

Hope that works...

This was my first thought as well. It’s all about the SOURCE and SETTINGS. Source first. Find the CD Aja from Steely Dan or anything from Alan Parsons Project. Pop it in your system while parked. Turn off every process that takes away from flat. Eq flat, surround flat, fader to just the front 2 speakers. Again, only listen to a high quality piece of music through your CD player or iPod, not the radio. And turn off everything that would color the music.

Good luck.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Theres definitely separation. I was listening to the beatles who sang in one channel and music in the other and I could hear it for sure. I think the Sound System in this car my 2015 S550 even sounds a little bit better than in my new 2018 E63 AMG surprisingly.

Connected to Pandora and there is definite separation, listening to Oscar Peterson trio.
Really good. Happy. Thanks, all.
