that would be the perfect car for me a 222 wagon. I have a amg wagon and a S550 sedan. Wish I could combine the two. Where I live up north the roads are very bumpy. My S is joy to drive the amg wagon not so much so. Very rough ride. I do like having a wagon though.

I think they might sell. I know I would love a truck with S Class ride and quality. Porsche just came out with a Panamera wagon that I would have purchased if they were on the used market. Just cannot pay 100K plus for a massively depreciating asset.

Ya know that might be a good project for west coast customs. I may contact them and see if they can make my s550 into a wagon. That would make for an interesting show

It would be a great project for any number of the well known (or not well known) custom shops out there. When I saw this post, my first thought was Kindig, but WCC would kill it too.

it would be one rare car. One reason I like wagons is I ride a three wheeled trike called a handcycle and I can put that in the back of a wagon. I also play wheelchair tennis and my tennis chair just fits in the trunk of the sedan. I really like different things and this would be different. Maybe make it in a shooting brake style so it did not look like a hearse or ambulance. I’m sure there must be s class herses out there.

I’ll admit that I don’t know much about custom shops and the cars they build, but I feel that no matter how great they may be, they can never match the quality and engineering that a company like MB puts into a new model. I’m sure these custom creations look beautiful and probably function nicely, but put what these custom shops invest in a one-off vehicle, against maybe a billion dollar investment by a company like MB and, IMO, the end result is just not going to be anywhere in the same ballpark.

I just love the current E Class Wagon and would have one along with my S Class Sedan, if there was just the space to put a spare wheel/tire. I carry a spare in my current W222, but it sits on top of the trunk floor. I’ve learned to live with that. However, in the wagon, the cargo space is open to the cabin and putting a spare in there just isn’t cool. A wagon especially, without a spare is just plain stupid. No worries, I’ll add the dead horse myself.

Yes. Both of my daughters drive GL's and they are very nice vehicles, but just not in the same league as the S Class. They feel more like a great, big E Class.

You do make a good point Streamliner, I was looking at the car closely, it would be a major cutting and welding and fabrication job to convert this car into a wagon. I'm so happy with the way the car drives as it is. I do have a Amg Wagon and a pickup truck, I guess I should just be happy with what I have rather than pushing the envelope. I really do think the S class wagon would be a good seller for Benz, what better car for a family with children to have than a S Class benz wagon?

I'm not a wagon guy but I must admit some wagons look cool ,long gone days of geography teacher's default car choice
However, in ultra premium car segment I have not seen wagons made by premium German Brands .I don't think no one would be interested at picking their Walmart stuffs in their S Class .They would rather prefer SUV for that job

Unfortunately, at least IMO, SUV’s have come to dominate the market. No matter how good some of them ride or handle, they never come close to driving like a fine sedan. And don’t even get me started on the pick-up truck mania, with so many people out there finding a need to drive these monster trucks, jacked to the moon with gigantic tires protruding a foot beyond their fenders. Ford, Chevy, Ram & others have found a lucrative way to satisfy the physical & mental shortcomings of all the wannabe “Outlaws” out there and there are millions of them.

Lincoln MKT fulfills those needs!

OMG, you're certainly not going to turn your beautiful S Class into a wagon so that idea is out! Just live with what you got, sir. Heck no!!!! I'll just say what so many of us are thinking.

Nope this post originally was from a while back with my last 2015 S550, my newer one is pristine low mileage 2017 and I would not touch this car.

It is done in Europe and has been done for years. They turn everything from Aston's Benz's, Bentleys, etc into a shooting break or brakes?
There have always been 4dr wagon S Classes starting with the 116. Don't look as bad as you think. I forget the name of the Co that does them. The E class wagon looks great so not sure why the S would look bad as long as the pillars are slanted properly.
Coach built cars are available and the quality is usually quite good.
