remote start on W222

Is there an easy way to add remote start to my MY2015 W222. Don't want to waste money on Mbrace subscription.

Rocketman 02-24-2018 12:01 PM

I don't think MBrace will do it anyway. Not for a 2015 anyway.

Rhschnauss 02-24-2018 10:42 PM

A 2007 Cadillac does auto start. What’s the problem here.

carnut1 02-27-2018 06:57 AM

No easy way to do it. There is a company that can turn the stock key into an auto start, but they cannot do it for the W222 cars.

I'm a dealer for MidCity and have been bugging them for this for a while now and they just told me yesterday they are close to cracking the code. So, I hope it should be avail sooner than later.

I see it's been almost a year since you posted that MidCity may be getting close to cracking the code. Any luck yet? I have a 2015 S550 that I'd like to add remote start to.

THIS IS THE RESPONSE TO ME EMAIL FROM MID CITY 1/9/2019Good Afternoon,Unfortunately no update yet. The engineer is going back into R&D in the next month or two for the S class and C class. We should hopefully know something in the middle of the year if it will work.Sincerely, Michael Diamond

A faster answer will probably come from you calling them.

steinjr 07-15-2019 03:42 PM

I spoke with Midcities today and they said if everything goes well with testing, they will release this fall.

Rhschnauss 07-15-2019 10:27 PM

I’m glad to hear that they are working on a solution.

Rhschnauss 07-15-2019 10:28 PM

My 2015 S550 will have a feature available on my 2007 Cadillac! LOL

kingbkahl 08-21-2019 10:11 AM

Just spoke

Spoke to the mid city rep yesterday- he said they have not forgotten about us. They are a smaller company so it may take some time, but they are working on other projects and circling back to W222 remote start. He said check back in 6months, so I’ll keep this thread updated

I think I mentioned before, I'm a dealer for Midcity and talk with them quite a bit. I will have it as soon as it's out. I'll try to help you guys out. Let me know then.

kingbkahl 08-21-2019 10:30 AM

The more the merrier! Thanks for the help

Jason B 08-21-2019 10:35 AM

Sure, I've been BEGGING them for this for over 2 years.

kingbkahl 08-21-2019 10:52 AM

The guy I spoke to said they’ll probably work on C class and sprinter (not sure why??) then circle back on the W222. But he said he hasn’t given up hope

Jason B 08-21-2019 10:55 AM

It's all about cracking the CODE and it's harder in the w222.

seamus2154 08-21-2019 11:52 AM

It's amazing that my old GMC has remote start and Mercedes doesn't think I want to cool my car before getting in??? So much technology and engineering but leave this convenience out? I really wonder what their reason is?

FASTTRIP 08-26-2019 06:36 PM

I bet is has to do with the WIFI , hacker could shut down your car when your doing 75 MPH , the new GTR Nissans can’t auto start also. But I could be wrong .and personally that makes sense to me and really wouldn’t want that option iif that was the case.

FASTTRIP 08-26-2019 07:05 PM

I can lock and unlock my car when it’s in drive through my Mercedes Me App. And the App says anytime the car is OFF. Hmmmmmm

Hi everyone -- thank you for your continued interest in our suite of products!
We're currently focusing primarily on rolling out the remote starter solution for the new W907 Sprinter platform, and after that, we plan to roll out the coverage for W205 platform for C Class and GLC next. Hoping to roll out coverage for the W222 after that. While we hope to get this solution out before the weather turns cold here in North America, we sometimes see unexpected delays in development, as we are building each of these solutions from the ground up. We appreciate your patience and patronage.
Best wishes from the Windy City!

I understand that the remote start delete was based on security.. but come on... I want to cool the car down in the summer. So I go to remotely roll down the windows.. but I have to roll the shades down 1st. Then I have to let go of the button to open the windows and sunroof. And I have to be on top of it for that feature to work so I might as well just open the door.

Have been exploring the possibility of moving to the EU and was looking at the configurator for a W222 diesel in Italy (S400d). Remote start is available as an app on your phone directly from Mercedes Benz. Not sure why it's not available in the United States.

morley8000 09-02-2019 09:12 AM

My 2019 560 as remote start from my phone. I just press the engine off and then hold start.
Am I missing something here?
